The Liebster Award: Take 2

It's been a while since I did one of these posts, but I am happy to say that I've recently been nominated by the lovely Lisa from Showered With Design! I am so excited and thankful for her to think of me!

The Liebster Award is given by fellow bloggers to new blogs with smaller followings but huge potential; it is a great way to find new blogs as well as support one another.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the rules of the award are as follows:
mention the person who nominated you with a link to their blog
answer the eleven questions the asked
nominate eleven other bloggers with a smaller following but a lot of potential
create eleven of your own questions for them to answer
notify your nominees

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My answers to Lisa's questions:

1. What is your favourite vacation/getaway spot?
Anywhere that is away from the cold! Yes, I absolutely love the sun, and the heat, and just summer all year round.  I actually love visiting my cousins in San Francisco, California.  We try to go down there as often as we can since my entire moms side of the family is basically there, and so just being with them is all I could ask for. The best kind of vacation depends on the ones whom you spend it with!

2. What is your ideal date night?
My ideal date is very simple - as long as I spend time with Jay and we just have a great time doing what, then that is perfect enough for me.  See I'm a very simple girl, I don't like all the attention on me all the time, so if we end up just going to the movies, and dinner afterwards, I'm actually okay with that. It's all about quality time.

3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? and why?
First of all, I would live somewhere warm. Well thats the plan I have anyways. But if I could live anywhere in the world, I would honestly live in Paris, France. The first time I went there, I was instantly in love with the scenery and just the beauty that every corner had.

4. What is your favourite TV show that you can't miss a week without watching?
I honestly cannot miss an episode of Pretty Little Liars. Ever since the first season, I've just been hooked into the story line. Although I feel that the show has been going on for a while, I still have the urge to make sure I have my popcorn and chips ready to watch the show, every Tuesday night!

5. Why did you start blogging?
I actually started blogging with the intention of just expressing myself without my friends knowing about it. I just wanted a place to write down about my day, or my experiences and read other's experiences as well. And in doing so, I was hoping that I would somehow find myself

6. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
When I was a child, I always wanted to become a paediatrician. I always had a great experiences whenever I went to the doctors, and that they just provided me a safe and fun environment.  So I think its safe to say, based on my great experiences, I knew I wanted to do the same for little babies one day when I grew up.

7. Do you prefer cats or dogs or neither? and why?
I prefer dogs. I find dogs more sociable and more livable when it comes to the owner-pet relationship. I genuinely think that dogs have a soft spot for their family and I think they are such great friends to play around with whenever you're feeling lonely.

8. Have you ever participated in a Random Act of Kindness?
Yes I have! I am proud to say that I've actually done a few in January, and I'm ready to dominant the random act of kindness in February!

9. Who is your favourite celebrity?
My favourite celebrity at the moment has to definitely be Harry Styles. YES, I am very fond of him since the first time I saw One Directions blogs on youtube when they were still on X-Factor UK.  I've been a fan ever since, and although I have yet to see him in person, he is definitely my favourite. No explanation needed.

10. Which one of your posts is your favourite blog post ever?
I personally have two favourite posts, and that's because it has to do with Jay.
Thankful for You.
Tangible Object, Intangible Value

11. What is the best advice you were given, and by whom?
The best advice I've ever receive has got to be, "Do it for you and for no one else." My dad told me this when I was struggling a few years ago trying to figure out what programs I would be applying for university. He told me that of course he wants me to have a great future, but he also said that at the end of the day, it is the life I am going to be living with.  He told me that one day when he and mother are gone, I am the one still living with what I worked for. So I need to work towards something that I will enjoy and not regret in the future. I love you dad.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I nominate:

Here are my questions for you lovely bloggers:
1. What is your favorite season? Why?
2. If you had all the money in the world, what would you buy?
3. What is one makeup product you don't leave home without?
4. If you could visit/travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
5. Do you prefer baking or cooking? What your favourite dish to bake/cook?
6. Best day of your life thus far?
7. What do you always have to have in your purse?
8. What is your favorite weekend activity?
9. What accessory can you never leave your home without?
10. Why did you start blogging? and for how long have you been blogging?
11. What are your 3 favorite blogs?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So What Wednesday!

Life After I Dew
I can't believe it's Wednesday already! This cold week is going by really fast! Today I am linking up with Shannon  for So What Wednesday!

This week I'm saying so what if:
  • Monday was the best day I've had in weeks! It was good to smile.
  • I've been looking like a marshmallow at school. It's cold outside, and I really do not want to risk get sick.. or worst, frost bite!
  • That I was 45 minutes late to class this morning... it's snowing like crazy outside
  • I've watched Sense and Sensibility for the third time this week... I just love the story and I am just in love with the movie!
  • I haven't done anything productive for school this week...
  • I've been feeling sad and lonely for the past 2 weeks
  • I decided to cut my hair, I wanted a new change and people shouldn't get mad over it. It was my decision
  • my stomach growls in class, I'm on this new diet that my body isn't used to... so just allow me

Thoughts for Tuesday: You and I

Thoughts for Tuesday: You and I

Good morning, and happy Tuesday to all of you!

This morning I decided that I wanted to start up a weekly link-up just to say I tried it. Thoughts on Tuesday is a fun and exciting way to link up your favourite posts and meet other bloggers at the same time! Link up anything that comes to mind on this lovely Tuesday! Don't forget to grab a button and link-up with me on Thoughts on Tuesday!

This morning I woke up happy for the first time in a long time.

I guess it had something to do with the fact that I had an amazing time with Jay yesterday.  But this was usually rare for me. I have to wake up early in the morning to drive my sister to school, so you could tell that I am just exhausted to do so in the morning. But, today was different.  I guess you can say love is in the air. What a cliche! Yes... I know.

I had a great day with Jay.... better than I expected.  We've been having problems lately and truthfully I was nervous about seeing him for the first time in 2 weeks. I wasn't sure how I should act, and what I would say. I haven't been this nervous since the beginning... which was 3 years ago. But like I said, yesterday went better than I expected.

I just can't help but smile this morning.

I wish it was easier to explain to you all, instead of just rambling on and on about how happy I feel this morning and yesterday.

I thought I would share with you this song that just makes me happy when I hear it.  It is such a beautiful song to the point that I made it my alarm for the mornings.  When I woke up this morning hearing this song, I literally just laid in bed... just listening to the words, and just felt it all.  I hope you all enjoy this song just as I have. And hopefully you'll be thinking of that special someone for the upcoming Valentine's day preparations.

What are some of your thoughts on this Tuesday? Link up!

Last Week's Wishes Recap
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So I did (somewhat) catch up on my readings ... for last week. So technically my weekly wish for last week was fulfilled.. somewhat. Oh, I started reading a book for fun! It's also non school related, and can you guess what book.... yes, it's Jane Austins' Pride and Prejudice. I am excited about this book, I am currently on chapter 10, and I am loving every little bit of this book!
This Week's Wishes
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. I hoping to get a call from my job interview last week! Yes, my interview went successful last Monday, and now this week I am hoping I receive the call letting me know that I got the job! Like I said in last week's wishes, it is only 5 minutes from my place, so it is a win-win regardless what hours I have to work!

2. I hope I get accepted to the Nursing Program. This is probably a wish I'm going to be listing until I receive my acceptance letter. Don't get me wrong, I love the psychology program that I am already enrolled in at my current university, but I think I will have more of a future with a nursing diploma.

3. Be on chapter 20 by next week. Last week I made a wish that I wanted to start reading for fun again, and so I did! (Yay I actually did something good!) I'm already on chapter 10, and by the end of this week, I'm hoping to be on chapter 20.  If you skipped the beginning of this post, I'm currently reading the book Pride and Prejudice

4. Finish all my textbook notes to start studying for upcoming midterms. My midterms start in around 2 weeks, and I would like to start studying my material as early as possible so that I do not end up cramming 7 chapters the night before a test. That would just be very bad!

5. Go to the gym at least 4 times this week! I lost 5 pounds this week... and so I am determined to continue my healthy progress of proper fitness and diet!

6. Organize my agenda. I love writing in my agenda. But every so often I forget to use it, and then I end up not using it for weeks. So this week I am determined to reorganize my life again, and what better way but by using my agenda to help organize my mind.

siddathornton Happy Sunday everyone! I am linking up for the first time with Lauren for Sunday Currently. Click HERE if you're interested in joining along!
This week has been a really lonely one. I've been home in my bed when I'm not in school or working out. Just getting a lot of thinking done while relaxing on my own. No complaint here!
C  U  R  R  E  N  T  L  Y  .  .  .

R E A D I N G: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austin. I am absolutely in love with the story thus far. I haven't watched the movie either, so I am excited to watch the movie after I finish the book. Which I'm expecting in two weeks or so. I'm only on chapter 10, so I have a long way to go!

W R I T I N G: textbook notes for all the readings of my classes. Don't want to be behind by a lot of chapters by the time the test/midterm comes up!

L I S T E N I N G: the movie Riddick. Technically I'm watching the movie, but currently that what I'm listening to at the same time!

T H I N K I N G: about what I'm going to do with the rest of my Sunday.

S M E L L I N G: the smell of my clean room.

W I S H I N G: some good news.

W E A R I N G: my pink UofT sweater, and blue sweats.

L O V I  N G: the late 1700s and the early 1800s; just the romance and the commitment men and women had for one another is really beautiful to experience through my readings of Jane Austins' novel!

W A N T I N G: to be happier this week.

N E E D I N G: a nice cup of tea.

F E E L I N G: alone and lonely.

C L I C K I N G: furiously on the save button in hopes of saving my blog post since my wifi is currently deciding not to work with me today.

Happy Sunday everyone!

I'm here again linking up with Ashley and Neely for Social Sundays! Click HERE if you're also interested in participating in today's social.
This week's questions have are all about the number 4!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. 4 Favourite bands you loved in high school.
Uhmm.... nope. How about 1 band, 5 guys - One Direction
I loved these guys since high school, and 2 years after graduating high school... I still loved them!
2. 4 go to meals you'd love to learn to cook or can cook really well.
I love my spaghetti, mac and cheese with ground beef, chicken parmesan and spring rolls! I can make 3/4 while I am determined to learn how to make chicken parmesan. YUMMY!
3. 4 necessities to your daily life.
Call me weird, but it's because of all the available technology, I need my phone everyday - to contact others, for people and even for instagram!  I also need water in my daily life. I personally love water, plus it is so much healthier than pop!  I need lotion so that my skin isn't always constantly dry, especially in this cold weather we are constantly having. And lastly, I need shoes in my everyday life!
4. 4 makeup necessities to your daily life.
Like I said last week on Social Sunday, I need my mascara, lipstick, liquid eyeliner and my foundation for my daily looks!
5. 4 favourite apps on you phone or iPad.
Gotta love instagram, tumblr, twitter, and Simpsons tapped out apps!
Instagram: @oulalanessaa        Tumblr: She Writes About You   Twitter: @oulalanessaa           the Simpsons Tapped out!

How to Add a Signature to Your Blog Posts

How to Add a Signature to Your Blog Posts

Happy Saturday everyone! As you've all noticed, I've been pretty much posting up blog tutorials every Saturday. I'm going to continue to attempt doing so, unless I have no further ideas of what tutorials to provide for you.

Anyways, lets get to the good stuff. Today's tutorial is about:

Step 1:
Create a signature using your favourite Photo Editor.  I use PicMonkey using the size 200x70.  This size is neither to big or too small.

Step 2:
Upload your signature picture to your favourite image host site. Most people use photo bucket or picasa! As long as your able to get the image URL, it will be fine wherever you post it.  I post mine onto my private separate blog that I use only for designing my blog.

Step 3:
Copy the direct link or image address of the image, and paste it within this code: *replace "YOUR IMAGE URL", but do not remove the quotation marks!*

Step 4:
On your blogger account, go to "Settings".  Under "Settings" click on "Post and Comments".  You will see this:

Beside Post Template, you will see "Add".  Click "Add" and a box will open.

Step 5:
Paste the code from step 3 with your image URL in the box.
If your want your signature to be centred, add the centre tags:

Step 6:
Click on "Save Settings" at the top right hand corner.

That's it!

NOTE: The signature image will not show up on previous posts, but it will on future post that you draft!

Did it help? Let me know! And if you have any ideas of what tutorials to provide, just let me know!
