If We Were on a Coffee Date... | vol. 8

If we were on a coffee date, I'd be drinking peach tranquility herbal tea. I'm assuming we are meeting up at Starbucks today only becuase I'm currently writing this post at Starbucks, and I've been on a tea craze lately. I'm not in school at the moment, so there is really no need for me to stay up late at night studying, so I'm in no real need of their really strong coffee and lattes that make my heart beat super fast and stay up for 2 days straight. Imma stick to tea, until I start back school in January.

I know... I'm a bit hyper for someone who's not drinking coffee or lattes. But, can you blame me?? I'm currently writing this as I'm sitting at Starbucks, and my sister ordered a lattee, and I can smell it from here. I'm telling you, these are strong!!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you all about the silly drama going on at work. Thankfully, none involves me or is around me; but, the drama is getting out of hand. It's not even just one drama between a group of people. There is a bunch going on, and I don't even know where to begin. All I know is that I'm trying to stay out of it and not put my two cents worth into what is being told to me. There are lowkey snakes in the workplace. If I say something to the wrong person, who knows where they will take that information to. Oh yeah, one of the drama involves someone snitching about what other coworkers are saying about the managers... It's like I'm back in high school.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd talk to you about How to Get Away With Murder. Since I'm a huge fan of Grey's Anatomy, and literally finished watching all episodes for the 3rd time now, I decided to try out How to Get Away With Murder since Shonda Rhimes is involved in this show as well. This series is really interesting let me tell you. But, now that I'm coming to the end of season 2, I realized that I'm annoyed at a few things in the show. Firstly, I never knew I could dislike and be so annoyed by a character like I am with Mickayla. She's really whiny and has this goody vibe that I'm not feeling and buying. Also, HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS MUCH BY NOW? It's too much I think... way too many murders and secrets going on here.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd probably let you talk for a bit. Yeah, I really would. I'm really not much of a talker when it comes to myself. Besides, the barista is coming around with samples of something that looksand smells amazing. So, I'm just going to sit here quietly and eat up my samples while nodding at your story because I'm a good friend like that.

If we were on a coffee date, you'd see me dressed up in a costume. Today is October 31st, and it's halloween. I reluctantly swtiched shifts with my friend today only becuase I had an upcoming Friday closing shift that I just wasn't feeling. So, I decided to switch the morning shift for today. And, since it is halloween, my managers encouraged us to wear costumes... That's why I'm dressed like this. I don't want to seem like a party pooper and show up in normal cloths. So, I thought of easy costumes, and decided to be a bunny. But, not a slutty rabbit, common I'm going to work...

I'll post a picture in just a bit...

If We Were on a Coffee Date | vol. 7

If we were on a coffee date, we'd me meeting at the Second Cup near my work. This week, no scratch that, this entire month I've been devoted to work. Even though I am a part-time worker, I've been trying to pick up as many shifts as I can. So, why not make it easier for me (sorry.. if you have to travel far) and just meet up somewhere closer to my work. I mean, I'll most likely have a shift after our coffee date anyways.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd be drinking a frozen/iced hot chocolate. I know the point of going on a coffee date is to meet up and have coffee... But, if you haven't tried this, oh my, you really are missing out. At first I was not too impressed at the idea of hot chocolate being cold... but, wow. It actually tastes amazing and it is absolutely perfect for the extremely hot weather we've been having here in Toronto. YUM. I've literally been spending all my spare change on this!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that my cousin from France is flying in! This is kind of exciting news for me. The last time we saw each other was a couple of years ago when she flew into Toronto on her own. During her time here we took her to all sorts of places. Before her coming to Toronto, we actually also spent a few days with her in Paris, France, when my family took a trip up there couple years back. But, this time will be different. She's bringing her husband, whom I'm kind of excited to meet.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd confess that I'm a bit scared for September. All my friends are going back to school. And, this is the first time I'm literally not taking any sort of classes to keep my brain from plateauing. I do start school for nursing in January. So, I'm really hoping that the next few months will be a good relaxing period before the hectic school years begins. I really don't want the next few months to fuel my laziness and then go back to the school in January feeling lazy and not mentally prepared. Does that make sense?

If we were on a coffee date, I'd ask how August was for you. August was such a rollercoaster for me. Some days flew, and some days were just way too long. So, I really cannot say whether August went by fast or not... There was just a lot happening, and I was wondering if you felt  the same.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that I'm participating in the #blogtember challenge! This is the third year Bailey from Brave Love Blog will be hosting this blogging challenge. In the past years I did participate, but not to the full extent. My goal this time around is to participate in more than half of the prompts! I'm really excited for this challenge. I was quickly going through some of the prompts and (as usual) their perfect! I've already got the next two posts ready and scheduled! One of them includes a video! Yay!

What about you? What would you tell me on our coffee date?

If We Were on a Coffee Date | vol. 6

If We Were on a Coffee Date | vol. 6

If we were on a coffee date, I'd first apologize for being that friend who disappears from your life out of no where. I mean, I kind of did disappear from here. It's either I've been really present (for like 1 day or 2), or I've been really absent (which has been the case over the course of June). I guess you can say that nothing fun or eventful or even "blogable" has occurred to me since graduation. It is either I've been working or attempting to study. Study for what? Well...

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that even though I finished uni, I want to go back to school. Yes, believe it or not, I really do. I feel like we live in a world where everyone is becoming smarter and more hard working. Or, just flat out more competitive with HUGE ambitions. I feel like credentials are super important, especially the type of degree you hold. And, (well, I can speak for Canada) I feel like having a bachelors is not enough. You need to have your masters in order to really do something in your field of study. Well, that's how it is for psychology....

So, I decided to switch gears and go back to school. The goal is... nursing. And, because I haven't studied biology, chemistry or math since grade 12 (4 years ago....), I will be taking a nursing admissions exam to be eligible to enrol into the program. I'm nervous - especially for chemistry. I didn't get it back then, I'm not sure how I'm going to get it now.  Just wish me luck, please.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how customers are actually evil. Well, not all. But, for real... I've told you all before that I work part-time in a retail store... and, the people I've encountered make me question humanity as a whole. Never have I ever thought working in retail is actually... kinda... horrible! Like I literally feel I do not get paid enough when it comes to receiving and unpacking shipments in the backroom to being on the sales floor cleaning up after people (grown adults to be specific) or dealing with the bulls*t customers give me over issues that I really have no control over. To be honest, sometimes I don't even want to go into work because of the customers. But, then I look at my credit card bill... that's literally my only motivation for sticking around. Oh, and saving money for school.

If we were on a coffee date, you probably see me upset for paying extra for lactose free milk. I don't get it. If I cannot digest lactose, why do I have to be punish and pay extra? I already suffer from not eating some of my FAVOURITE desserts (even though, sometimes I don't care and still do). But, still... it makes no sense. I'm not making a "healthy" decision and ditching lactose... I can't digest it. I shouldn't have to pay extra... every... damn... time. I'm talking to you Starbucks!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd confess that I (randomly) stopped participating in the 100 Day Project on insta... Not sure why. I was doing SO WELL for like a good 30 days. Then, one day... I ended up staying home and didn't end up taking a good insta-worthy pic... then from then on, I literally just had nothing to post. It's weird. I'm weird. I just have a hard time taking good insta photos... anyone with me on that? or have you already mastered a technique that I'm not understanding -.- (check out the collections of pics I took though... #100dayswithnessa)

If we were on a coffee date, I'd probably show up in my pyjamas... and late. I'm tired. I really am. When it comes to work, my schedule has been all over the place. One day I would be closing, and the next morning I would be opening. So, there's not much room to sleep in and enough my bed. So, don't get too upset if I show up late :)

If we were on a coffee date, I'd asked you for some suggestions on books! I want to read my this summer. And, I want to fall in love with new authors. So, tell me... any books you've recently read and absolutely loved? I'm talking about the ones where you just finished reading a book, and you want to read it all over again... Let me know!!!

If We Were on a Coffee Date | vol. 5

Can't believe the month is already over - like, over, over. Tomorrow we start the month of October, and that means a WHOLE lot of tests and essays and exams to prepare and schedule for. But, let's not dwell of the future studies... I wanna talk about this month!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about Neisha's birthday! Just this past weekend, my  main cousin turned 21! And, we partied hard for her. Hmm.. I would make a blog post about it, but I really don't remember taking any photos at all! It was all videos for snapchat.. and half of it was just nonsense I don't remember taking... This is exactly why I wouldn't make a blog post about it aha!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about how I participated in the blog-tember challenge. I can truthfully say that blog-tember was a success! (well, almost).  I mean, I participated in this challenge more than I thought I was capable of. Reaching towards the end of the month, however, I did find myself struggling to keep up with school work, so I went missing for like 6 days... But, besides that, I am genuinely surprised I completed the challenge!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about some of my favourite prompts from the month! I'll just casually list out 5 of my favourite prompts from the month! For your convenience, I've also linked up my post that went with the prompt :)

1. Create a collage or mood board that describes your blog. (my post!)
2. Write a letter to 16-year-old you. (my letter)
3.  Record a VLOG! It can be about anything you'd like (here's mine!)
4. A favourite quote/expression and how it has impacted you. (my favourite quote..
5. Get creative! Sketch, paint, dance, play music, whatever then give us a glimpse. (here's my work!)

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how I found bunch of daily reads! Which, I am really happy about. Most of my daily reads (don't want to name anyone specific) don't blog on the daily anymore. So, I feel very empty on my Saturday mornings having not much to read. But, now...  because of this challenge, I've defiantly found something to read again :) Yay!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd probably order another coffee.. or two. I really need it. And, I'm just swarmed with school stuff. As much as I don't want to think about it... I do have to prepare for the upcoming weeks of tests and other "fun" stuff.

If We Were On A Coffee Date | Vol. 4

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how I Write About You went through major changes! Firstly, I bought my own custom domain. It was a battle for the url, but I somehow pulled through and got it! I also found myself buying my first premade theme for the blog. And, I couldn't have been any happier at how elegant and professional my blog layout now looks! Makes me so excited to get back into the blog bit. If you want to read more about it, click HERE.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how I enjoyed summer school. The second half of summer school, I decided to take a Cognitive Development course. And, to my surprise, I actually loved it! At first, I only enrolled into the course in order to fulfill the credit; but, somehow, it was probably the most intriguing third year course I've ever taken. So, it was a great way to end off my summer. Being in a class, with the most amazing prof, killing the course. I hope this momentum continues!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that I'm nervous about my last year in uni. When school starts back up, literally less than 2 weeks away, I will be entering the last phase of my undergraduate path. It is nerve-racking. And, in all honestly, I am just scared. I want to kill the year. I want to be able to have many options available to me. It is all stressful; especially thinking about what I will be doing after I graduate. Hopefully, everything will click when the time comes to start applying for different programs!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how I'm thinking about looking for another job. Right now, I have a part-time retail job. Personally, I do not see it as an ideal job as this retail job is most likely not related to my career path. So, I really need to take time, sit down, and look - look for hospital jobs, or even volunteer opportunities. I need to build my resume and build my experience.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how I went to the EX. The last time I went to the exhibition was actually YEARS ago. And, since I didn't remember what it was like, I thought I'd try it out. So, I went, and I enjoyed myself! It was a great day - but, I personally think it was because I was with great people. To read more details about it, click HERE

If We Were On A Coffee Date | Vol. 3

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how hot I was!  It is extremely hot in the city of Toronto. I really should complain, because I usually complain about the cold.. but, I mean, if I really can't breathe in the heat... I think I do have a right to complain. This entire July month was just HOT. and, I really couldn't deal with it. I couldn't breath, so for the most part of the month, if I wasn't at school, I was in my room blasting the AC.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how cranky I was! No, not menopausal.. I'm far too young for that. I mean cranky... and just overall frustrated with the different customer service people I had to deal with on the phone. Some, did not know what they were talking about, others had no reliable communication of information shared among head office and sales representatives, and other were just plain rude about not letting me cancel a certain subscription. It was absolutely ridiculous, and I finally understand why my father was always yelling at the inconsistency among companies whenever calling customer service - especially, for phone bills!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how we celebrated my mothers 55th! Actually, if you were a true friend, I would really have to talk about this because you would have probably read it here on the blog... but, if you didn't, it's okay, I actually forgive you. You can still read all about it HERE.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about my cognitive development class! So, for the second half of the summer, I decided to enrol into another course called, Cognitive Development. It is a psychology course, and I thought I would be miserable in this course because of the prof and his teaching style, but to my surprise, I think I appreciate him way more than ever before. When I had him as a prof for a different course 2 years ago, I thought he was absolutely insane, and I always got frustrated when he thought. But, I somehow ended up with an 80 in his course. This year, I absolutely love his teaching method (which is the same from 2 years ago). I realize the way he teaches actually hints us on what he's going to test us on, and he really has a great sense of humour! A really great prof!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about our new neighbours. This entire month, we saw our neighbours slowly move into the house next door. It was bitter-sweet to see our old neighbours leave as they were our neighbour for literally 20 years. Crazy. However, it is kind of cool because our neighbours have kids, potentially around my sister's and I age. SO, hopefully, us neighbours will be civil and at least have small talks here in there during our encounters!

If We Were On A Coffee Date | Vol. 2

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that I went to Wasaga beach. Actually, I blogged about it already, so if you read that post, I wouldn't have to tell you... (HERE). It was both relaxing and somewhat fun. But nonetheless, it was a weekend getaway I really needed. Away from all the chaos happening here at home, school, and life in general!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you that I'm nervous about the future. I've been thinking about about the what's I'm suppose to do after I graduate from uni. It is honestly nerve racking and just unsettling not to know because I do not have a solid plan. I need to really put my head and heart together to see what I really want to do in the future.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you I read 3 books in this month alone. It would have been 4, but I actually got distracted being in Wasaga and not bringing the physical book with me there. In fact, I finished each book in less than 3 days. They were all John Green books - The Fault in my Stars definitely my favourite.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about my new phone. I love my new phone. It's the new Samsung 6 Edge. At first I thought I would low-key be upset about not being on the Apple side of things anymore, but the switch was incredibly easy! I'm actually very impressed with the phone, especially the camera.

If we were on a coffee date, we'd probably talk about OTNB. Yes, I love Orange is the New Black. Although, there are some interactions between characters that make me feel uncomfortable, but the story line overall is pretty great! I love the new character, Stella, played by Ruby Rose - and she is just absolutely gorgeous! I would also talk about how I feel really bad for Dayanara's character. The entire season, she defiantly suffered a lot. I'd probably go on an on, but I don't want to give spoilers to those who have yet to watch the season!

Hope to see y'all on our next coffee date!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about my relaxing month. I was actually fortunate enough to have the best exam schedule, allowing me to to pretty much complete all of my (two) exams on the first week of exams. This meant, I got the entire month to relax before summer school starts!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how Penelope made me cry. Yes, I cried. Last Tuesday/Wednesday, Penelope involuntarily just stopped eating and drinking. This of course scared the life out of me because, well, she was losing a lot of weight quickly. And, in all honestly, I think it is way to early for her to leave me.

In case you were wondering, she is doing much better. Although she is not eating her rabbit pellets as often. Instead, she is doing a great job eating her veggie greens, her favourite being lettuce, and a bit of her Timothy Hay.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you I read a book. Is this not exciting news to you? Well, it is to me! Because of school, I literally do not have time to finish a book, let a lone picking up a book. Crazy, I know. But, I found the cutest book store, and honestly, I bought books. I actually ended up finishing the book, Then Came You by Jennifer Weiner. Which, I should begin writing a book review for...

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you my credit card is crying. I don't know what the heck I've been doing, and thinking, for the last few weeks, but I logged onto my bank account and saw my credit card statement... $410 is what I owe. UHM. Why? I don't know. I really don't. And, thinking about it just makes me cringe...

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you the latest stress I have regarding school. I am entering my 4th year of university, and everything just seems so more real. This journey will come to an end next year. I am currently stressing about the schedule and courses I will be taking in September. AND, I am stressing about what I am doing after I graduate.

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you I'm binge watching The Hills. I don't know what came over me, but I decided to rewatch MTV's classic reality show, The Hills. Honestly, it is crazy how much time has past since the finale. Being on season 2, I am realizing that Lauren Conard has the realest of advice... it is crazy how everything she says makes more sense now than ever before!

Hope I'll see you on our next coffee date :)
