My 2018 Goals

Happy New Year friends!

Can someone please explain to me how 2017 went by soooo fast? I feel like just yesterday I decided on my word of the year, and now here I am, trying to figure out how the heck I want to approach 2018.

I decided to come back this year instead of leaving my blog radio silent. In fact, I had this post ready for a few days now... Had to take a sick day from work to decide to come on here to actually publish it. But, this blog has been part of my life for so long, and I really wanted to give my blog a proper chance before parting ways. Besides, I did decide a few months ago that I was going to continue this for me. Even if the blogging-world has switched gears and went to a completely different directions... I just wanted this space for me.

So, with a new year beginning, why not set me some goals for myself. I know, it's such a cliche type of post, but hey, these were the types of posts I loved reading back when I first started my blog; therefore, these are the types of posts I will continue on my blog. Also, I just find that posting my goals makes me 100% accountable. And, this time around, I am more serious than I've ever been.

December Goals

Oh how it feels sooo good to start writing on the blog again. I mean, I know I only ended up writing 3 posts last month, but hey.. writing those 3 posts have never felt better. I wrote without feeling pressure to impress readers, or felt like I needed a certain number of views. I wrote for me, and for myself. And, I loved it.

And, here we are. It is officially December - the last month of the year. But, you already know this. Anyone else feeling some sort of way that 2017 is coming to an end?

I am. At this point, I just want to end off the month (and year) on a high!

I would revisit my goals from last month, but I'll be honest, it didn't go so well. So, let's not dwell on the past, and set myself some new goals. It's a new month, the last month of the year. Let's do this!

December goals
  • Finish my Christmas shopping (find the perfect gift for my dad)
  • Finish buying and wrapping secret Santa gifts
  • ACE and finish the semester strong
  • Do a final declutter of my room and bookshelves
  • Take more photos
  • Start looking into a trainer for Rosie (just little behaviours I need to fix)
  • Start creating a set of goals for 2018
  • Read a book!
  • Work as much as I can (and save)
  • Look for alternative part-time jobs...
  • STAY POSITIVE
  • ENJOY THE REST OF 2017

November Goals

Hello, November!

I seriously (and I really mean seriously) cannot believe it is already November. Like, NOVEMBER guys. Wow. Next month is already December, and shortly, it will soon be 2018! How crazy is that?

I didn't originally plan on being out of the blogosphere for this long, but, it was needed. And, from this moment on, I'm gonna take notes from a few of you who read my latest post and just blog for me. Not focus on blogging a certain amount of posts per week/month. I'm just going to blog when I please, and take breaks when I please.

Besides, November is the month of me! It's my birthday month, and I just want to get through this month (and the rest of 2017) with a positive note.

It's been quite a while since I've created myself a few goals for the month. Actually, come to think of it, I think not writing goals for myself has made my life such as mess.  My head has just been all over the place. I really need to sit down, create a list of goals, and FOCUS. Prioritize.

November Goals
  • Prep meals (for me and Rosie)
  • Practice, practice, practice
  • Complete a 30-day challenge
  • START CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
  • Plan a low-key night for my birthday weekend
  • Keep up with my readings
  • Reorganize my bookshelves + desk
  • SAVE!
  • RELAX and take it easy

What are your November goals?

July Goals

JULY? HOW ON EARTH IS IT JULY?

June went by way too quickly, just like the other months; like we are already in the second half of the year... The past couple have months have been an uphill struggle... I'm hoping this month things will turn for the better. So, enough small talk. I can always talk about the past couple of months in another post...  Let's get to this month's set of goals!

June Goals Revisited:
  1. Get my daily steps in. According to my app, last month I reached my step goal 19 time in June. Wohoo, yay me!
  2. Get my sh*t together for school. I'm not going to lie, this was kind of a struggle for me last month. Just with everything going on in life, I really thought I wouldn't pull myself together. But, somehow, I managed to pull through, and really started getting my stuff together. Got to keep this up if I want to finish off the semester strong.
  3. Be active on social media. Meeh... Oppps... I did started tweeting over the past couple of days... then stopped... I'll try again!
  4. Be more social. SUCCESS! This was actually something I kept in mind during my free time on campus. Turns out, it's easy for me to connect to other students on a level that is not focused solely on school work. So, I'm happy with this one!
  5. Make an impression. Still in progress! Although, a few of my teachers last semester still remember me enough to have a conversation in the hallway with me!
  6. Update my LinkedIn. Okay, I really wanted to do this... but, I didn't.  I was applying to a few jobs.. just got to remember to actually update my LinkedIn every time I'm on the internet... Like now.
July Goals!
1. Give an update on my life. I keep saying I've been missing because of a lot of uphill battles during the past couple of weeks. All these emotions and experiences are still fresh at the top of my mind. What better way to express myself here, and give you guys an update at the same time? Hopefully, it won't be too hard writing down everything...

2. Buy a new cute agenda, and USE IT! This is pretty self-explanatory... I do have an agenda, but new ones are available starting July 2017 until next year! Sooo... I really think if I buy a new agenda, it will motivate me to help organize my time with school work and my part-time job effectively.

3. Enjoy the summer. We are finally have the absolutely most beautiful weather of the season. Although, I am taking a lot of classes during the summer, I still want to find a balance and enjoy the weather as well! Like, I've been doing my math homework on our porch... Not exactly enjoying the summer to the fullest.

4. SLEEEP. Guys, my sleep schedule is f**ked. Like for real. There are nights where I get 3 hours of sleep before waking up early in the morning to head to class followed by rushing from school to work for a 6 hour shift. I was exhausted and cranky last month. I really need balance this month.

5. Drink lots of water. Even though I love to drink water, I don't seem to get quite enough in my body. I need more. Especially with the heat. Must. Drink. Water.

June Goals

So, I kind of went missing last month. And, in all honestly, it was just a much-needed break. A LOT has happened over the past month. My emotions were literally on a different rollarcoster ride every day... But, I think, I'm ready to be back.. if not, then I might have to take another break. For now, let's just get through June -- summer!

Because I didn't have any set out goals for myself last month, I'm just going to go straight into writing out my goals for June.

June Goals!

1. Get my daily steps in. 6000 steps at least. It's summer time, and the weather is gorgeous! And, I have the biggest motivator to go for walks. No excuses this month.

2. Get my sh*t together for schoolFirst month of summer school down, few more to go to complete semester 2. And, I'm exhuasted. This semester is packed with homework. I need to find more time for school work... Or, at least get things started/finshed ahead of time so I'm not screwed doing it last minute...

3. Be active on social media. My insta page is looking a litle bland. I don't post as often as I used to. And, I really should. The weather is beautiful, and I got a puppy (more on that later on the blog!!)

4. Be more social. Im in a program with amazing people. Yes, I am making friends with a lot of them, but I want to do more than just have conversations in the classroom. This month, I want to be more social, and actually have lunch out and be more open about my life.

5. Make an impression. A lot of my instructors currently work as a nurse while teach part-time at my school. This months, I want to starting making an impression with a lot of them. Who you know is powerful. And, one day, they might be able to put in a good word for me at their hospital when it comes to applying...

6. Update my LinkedIn. If you do not know what LinkedIn is, you better go on google right now and sign up for it. This is basically you're online portfolio/resume. And, because everything is so tech savvy nowadays, a lot of companies google us now! So, trust me, this is what you want them to see first

Well, the sun is shinning! Going to enjoy it before I have to start my paper due next week!

April Goals

YAAAS!

You guys won't even believe how excited I am that it's finally April! I'm so over the cold weather and the winter season; so, spring, I am ready for you. I am ready for you to come and go so that I can finally get my summer and warm weather!

I'm super excited, as you could tell.

But, before I get into this month's goal, I want to quickly go over how the last month went for me... March was a great month for me! I set myself a few goals, and I actually achieved them. Yes, I know a lot of the goals were a one-day-type of goal, but the other goals took commitment and dedication. But, hey, I got them done. So, let's just celebrate that!

March Goals Revisited:
  1. No coffee for the next 40 days. THIS IS ALMOST COMPLETE. I did not have a single cup (or sip) of coffee in the month of March. Wohooo, success! However, this goal was intended to give up coffee for the entire duration of Lent; so, I'm not quite done yet.
  2. Give an update on my 101 things in 1001 days. Yaaaaas, finally show my face here on the blog to give you guys an update on my 101 things. I'm actually doing much better than I thought I would be doing. Hmm... maybe putting my goal out there actuallly does help get them done.
  3. Go to church every Sunday this month. I FINALLY DID THIS. This was actually a goal of mine since November. I always found myself attending at least 2 Sunday services in a month. This time around, March was no challenge. I did it; and, it felt great!
  4. Start a gratitude journal. Ooooh, believe it or not, I actually wrote in my journal every single day. And, I learned a lot about myself throughout the process. I might have to make a separate blog post talking more about this... sometime soon.
  5. Positive vibes. Positive things happen to positive people. And, a lot of positive things happened to me in the month of March. Need I say more?
April Goals!

1. No coffee to finish off Lent strong. I'm almost done. I went this long without coffee, the next few days shouldn't be too hard!

2. Ace the last month of semester 1A. It's officially the last month of my first semester of nursing school. I started off the semester strong, and I want to finish it strong! No pressure there... well, there is. I'm putting a lot of pressure on myself, but it's for the good of my future.

3. Post at least 4 times on here. I've been neglecting my blog. That or I haven't been motivated to be on here as much as I used to. This month, I want to post at least 4 times.... the past couple of months I've only posted like once a week. So, let's get back on track.

4. Drink lots and lots of water. This is self-explanatory. Just want to live a healthier lifestyle.

5. Get my daily steps in. I have a goal of 6000 daily steps. I want to accomplish this every day this month. Like I said above, I want to live a healthier lifestyle!

March Goals!

Okay. I cannot be the only one who didn't even realize that yesterday was the last day of February. Like insurance came and took some money as a payment, and I was like Whaaat??. It was really a shocker. On top of that, I didn't even realize yesterday was shrove Tuesday and that today is the first day of Lent. I didn't get a chance to reflect on what I would like to give up for the next 40 days... Everything is moving a little too quickly... But, let's not dwell on the past... Let's make March a little more memorable!

February Goals Revisited!
  1. Ace my tests!  YAS. Your girl has definitely been putting in the work to get this goal done. On one of the tests I got back, I got an A, another test I got a B (not as great as an A, but I didn't put as much time as I wanted into that course), and another test I got a B+ (really close the 80 tho...). Now, I'm waiting to receive my other 2 test marks that I recently wrote. Not all A's but, it's something I now want to beat.
  2. Spread out my free time wisely. Surprisingly, I did this through the month of February! I was able to spread my time between school, work, and social (kinda). And, hey, I got my work done way before it needed to be done. Maybe this girl ain't a procrastinator no more.
  3. Prepare posts ahead of time. I swear I started a lot of posts. Just didn't have the inspiration to finish them. They just didn't come out the way I wanted them to. So, they are all in my drafts. Hopefully this month I'll get that spark back.
  4. Exercise! This is a yes and no. I won't cross this off because I did not go to the gym as many times I wanted to for the month. I did find more reasons to walk instead of taking the car, and I did find myself walking Jay's dog more and more in order to get my daily exercise in. So, exercise at the gym? It was a no in February. Opps.

March Goals!

1. No coffee for the next 40 days!
Yes, guys. I am going to do the impossible and give up coffee for Lent. Today is day one, and so far so good. I woke up early this morning to finish editing this post, and when I went to the kitchen to make myself a cup of coffee, but I stopped myself. I wasn't feeling for tea, I wanted coffee. But, I told myself... it's only 40 days. Hey, at at least this can give me a chance to complete another thing from my 101 in 1001 days. Speaking of which...

2. Give an update on my 101 things in 1001 days!
I think I'll try to do this sometime this week. If you didn't know, back on my 22nd birthday, I decided to create a list of things I wanted to complete in 1001 days. Some are legit goals, while others are just silly things I want to do. It's been a good three months, time to show you what I've been up to.

3. Go to church every Sunday this month.
Speaking of 101 things in 1001 days, one of my 'things' was to go to church and attend mass every Sunday for a month. In January, I went to every mass except 1, in February, I went to every mass except 1. This month, I will go to the Sunday masses.

4. Start a gratitude journal.
I was actually inspired by a few new bloggers, that I've recently found, to start a gratitude journal. I think I'm taking life for granted lately. I'm just living through the days without a care. This month, I want to acknowledge and thank God for everything I am thankful for. I want to recognize even the smallest things in my journal.

5. Positive vibes!
Positivity. All I want is positive vibes this month. Let the positive thoughts and actions start for this month. I want to have all smiles and be inspired by everything.

Do you share some goals with me? What are your March goals?

February Goals

Oh, hey, friends! I promise you that I had this post all ready to go days ago... And, silly me, I forgot to schedule it for the beginning of the month.... Well, we are only 9 days in, so it's still the beginning of the month...

But, let get straight into it, shall we?

January flew quickly! I didn't even realize how long ago I took the time to view my own blog. It's been hectic at school, and as of right now, I don't have much time allotted for my any fun. But, here I am, found a couple minutes in between my studying to set out a few goals for this month.

January Goals Revisited:
  1. Introduce myself. I'm still doing this as the days go, but I am very pleased with myself. I stepped out of my comfort zone and really put myself out there when introducing myself to the other students, and teachers.
  2. Ask questions. I've been doing this as well all month long! Whenever I had a question, I quickly raised my hand and asked, and I've even found myself emailing my teachers a lot for clarification. I think it is definitely a great start to this academic adventure.
  3. Read chapters before class. You'll be happy to note that I've actually been keeping up with my readings! I go to class well prepared, and I even find myself participating more.
  4. Prepare a few blog posts. I obviously didn't even come close to this goal....
  5. Don't be late to classes. The first month of school is going great! Not only was I not late for any of my classes, but I also did not skip or miss any of them! Yay me!
  6. Engage more with other bloggers. This past month, I, unfortunately, did not even engage with my own blog let alone other bloggers. I really need to learn to spread out my free time more wisely.
February Goals!
1. Ace my tests! I have a lot of tests scheduled this month. I really want to excel in my program. And, the first way to excel in my program, is to get the grades. So, this month when it comes to studying for my test, I will study for my tests. No distractions. (Of course, I will start go back to studying after I finishing writing this!)

2. Spread out my free time wisely. I have to juggle school and work. And, I want to incorporate time for my blog somewhere in between. However, I find myself giving away a lot of my shifts just to study for courses... I really need to learn to use my time wisely to study smart instead of hard, and work.

3. Prepare posts ahead of time. I love my blog. I love just writing about whatever I want on here. It feels like a great escape from all the craziness. In addition to what I wrote above for using my free time wisely, I think this month I'll use my "study breaks" as a writing break. Write a bit or perhaps just write and complete posts ahead of time.

4. Exercise! I find that I'm a stress eater. Lately, I've been paying more attention to what I'm eating when I'm stressed. I'm even resisting that urge to grab a bag of chips when I'm feeling down. I want to transform that feeling and put it towards exercise. Take out my stress at the gym while losing a few pounds.

January Goals

Hello, day 2 of 2017!

Although this year I opted out on creating New Year's resolution, I did choose a word of the year. So, that is completely separate from today's post. My months are not complete without setting a few goals for myself at the beginning of the month.

And, 2017 won't be any different. It's the first month of the New Year, and I want make sure I start off the year with a bang, and hopefully continue this stride for the months to come. I mean, I definitely came through with all of last month's goals; hopefully this month will be just as successful.

December Goals Revisited:
  1. Work as many hours as I can. Yay for me, because I actually did this! Whenever I was asked to stay a bit longer, or pick up an extra shift, 99% of the time I said "yes". There were really only 2 instances where I said "no" only because I already booked that day off ahead of time. But, other than that, I was basically working full-time hours for a part-timer. And, I'm super happy about that, I was able to save a lot!
  2. Start preparing for school. Ooo I did this as well! I wanted to pay my entire tuition, create my class schedule, purchase all my textbooks, and buy a backpack! All of which I accomplished! Wohoo.
  3. Enjoy the last month of 2016. I had an amazing December! All that I did was a great way for me to end the year.
January Goals:
    1. Introduce myself. I'm starting a completely new school in a complete different program this month. My goal this month is to be as friendly as possible, and introduce myself to different people, including students, teachers, clubs; everyone.

    2. Ask questions. I want to be more active this academic year. This means, whenever I have a question, I want to ask it write away in class. OR, if I'm feeling a bit shy, then to at least write the questions down on a separate piece of paper and ask the prof or TA after class. Regardless of how or when I ask the question, I want my questions answers way before test time.

    3. Read chapters before class. One thing I want to do this time around in school, is to read the chapter assigned for the lecture before the day of the lecture. And, if I have time, make textbook notes ahead of time. I want to start developing habits for school now rather 2 days before a test.

    4. Prepare a few blog posts. Preparing a few posts ahead of time will save me ample amount of time. I already know school is going to be hectic. Preparing a few posts now (or at least starting them) will make it that much easier to balance school and blogging.

    5. Don't be late to classes. I want to get to my classes early or even just on time. But, the earlier the better. I don't like arriving to class late, nor do I want to develop this habit early on. So, the goal is to leave my home (or work) an hour before class in order to arrive at least 30 minutes before classes begin.

    6. Engage more with other bloggers. I mean, I really have to make more of an effort to reply back to comments the moment after I read them. I always think about what I want to reply, and end up telling myself to do it later... and, I tend to forget altogether. Also, I want to make more of an effort to be a more engaged reader on others blog.

    December Goals

Seriously, how is it December already??? I swear, it was like November didn't even happen... But, after revisiting a few of my goals from last month, I clearly killed it! Take a look for yourself.

    November Goals Revisited:
    1. READ 3 BOOKS. Oh, yes I did. I read Girl Up by Laura Bates, Everyday Sexism by Laura Bates, and One Hundred Names by Cecelia Ahern.
    2. Beginners Yoga. I mean, I did a few yoga videos from youtube every chance I had... So, I was kinda successful...
    3. Re-watch Gilmore Girls. OH YEA. I re-watched every episode, and with perfect timing. I was able to finish the previous seasons before starting the new Girlmore Girls: A Year in the Life episodes.
    4. Plan something low-key. This goal was related to planning something small, yet fun for my 22nd birthday. And, I did just that.
    5. Save. Oh yeahhhhh. I did this to! Not only did I save up for my tuition, I also saved enough for a new laptop! I put the order in, and it should be available for pickup at the Apple store very soon ;) And, if you were wondering, I did decide to go with a refurbished macbook air!
    6. Start Christmas Shopping. Believe it or not, the only people I have left to buy gifts for are for my parents. And, that's only because my sister and I are putting money together to buy them a gift each this year.... but, it's so hard figuring out what they want or need....
    This Month's Goals:

    1. Work as many hours as I can. I mean, I really have no other choice. I start school next month, and that means working less... which, unfortunately means less money coming in. So, I think it is just smarter for me to get the hours I can now, especially since December is one of the busiest months of the year, and save a lot of my paycheck for the next couple of months. Just so I have my phone bill and other bills covered without the stress.

    2. Start preparing for school. There's a lot I have to do:
    - Pay the rest of my tuition before first day of classes (so interest isn't added)
    - Create my schedule for semester 1 (and figure out new availability for work)
    - Buy my textbooks
    - Buy a backpack (I did the whole use a purse for uni, and I think I'm going to stick to a backpack this time around)

    3. Enjoy the last month of 2016. It's the most wonderful time of the year. As much as stressful as this month can be, I really do want to enjoy the month as much as I can. I even want to take more pictures this month, just of everything and anything I'm enjoying.

    November Goals!

    02 November 2016

    November Goals!

Yesterday was the first day of November, and already the month started off great with such beautiful weather! We should be having a windy cool season, but yesterday was just absotluely beautiful. It was quite warm outside, with just a tint of breeze. Kind of reminded me of spring! It really put me insuch a great mood, the work day flew yesterday.

Oh, and if it's not quite obvious enough, it's November!!! & and it's my birthday month! I'm actually super excited to see what this months brings!

Not really sure how to end this splur of happiness so I'll just get straight to it. It's that time of the month where I share a few of my goals with y'all!

    October Goals Revisited:
    1. Work and Save. I most certainly did just that this month! I didn't buy anything unnesseary, and I didn't spend money on outside food. I only spent on groceries, and gas. So, this month, a lot of my money was able to go into my savings.
    2. Update old posts. This one is a yes and no. I did go through a few of my old posts, and found myself deleting a few. There were others I noticed that were still being viewed, so I updated those. Other than that, I didn't really do much as I wanted...
    3. Beginners yoga. I wished I did this everyday, but I didn't. I did do some beginner yoga videos from youtube every so often, and I really enjoyed it! It felt like a really good stretch. I really want to continue with this and hopfully turn it into an everyday thing.
    4. Read. WOW. I actually did not even do this. I began to read a book, and I had it laying on my side table. I would pick it every time I had nothing to watch, but I hadn't finish it entirely. Oopps.

    This Months Goals:

    1. Read 3 books.
This might not seem like a huge amount of books to you, but for me this is! I was actually looking back at the past year and realized I've been reading around 2 books per month. This month I want to try to read 3! First step, pick out 3 books, next step, actually read.

    2. Beginners yoga.
Last month, I really enjoyed following along some beginner yoga youtube videos. It honestly felt like such a great stretch. I want to continue doing as much yoga as I can this month. Perhaps I can find a challenge to really push myself. It really is something I'm starting to love doing every chance I get.

    3. Rewatch Gilmore Girls.
Didn't you hear??? Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is going to be available on netflix in late Novemeber! I am super excited for this. I've waited soooo long for something like this to happen, and now it's finally coming. So, why not prepare for this moment by rewatching all of episodes Gilmore Girls!? This is the priority :)

    4. Plan something low-key.
November is my birthday month! I'm literally counting down the days til my birthday, even though I don't have anything big planned. I really should... My birthday falls on a Saturday this year which is perfect to do something big. But, I did the whole house party thing last year with friends. And, this year, I kind of want to just focus on doing something small with a few friends.

    5. Save!
School is quickly approaching! I already paid for my tutition depoist not too long ago, and I'm almost done saving up for my entire tutition. So, I'm good with that. But, I need to save additional money for another laptop. I'm really considering getting a refurished one, I've hear many great experiences. But, I'm going to wait to see the kind of sales Black Friday in November will bring! I have until before first day of classes to get a laptop... Shouldn't be too hard to save. I've been doing great so far!

    6. Start Christmas shopping.
I don't like the maddness of crowds. This month, I'm going to try my best to get all of my Christmas shopping done. I rather do it now instead of next month where I'm stuck in store for hours due to finding parking, finding my items, and finding a short line that moves fast. This year, I've decided to only get gifts for a few people (literally 5). I have a few things in mind of what I want to get them... Hopefully this won't be too hard.

    October Goals

Hello October! I don't know how you got here so quickly, but you're here and I am here to embrace you with open arms! September was a great month for me both here on my blog and out here in my real life. I'm really hoping for more positivity and fun to come my way as we, dare I say it... come to the end of 2016. The new year is approaching us way more faster than I expected.

But, for now, let's just focus on October, shall we?

    September Goals Revisited:
    1. Reply back. Believe it or not, I actually replied back to ALL of my texts, comments, tweets, everything you can think of. Okay, maybe not one... but, I am going to reply back right after I finish this post.
    2. Read a book. Oh, yes I did! I read, and finished, two books. I'm a slower reader, I'll soon increase my number of reads per month in time.
    3. Complete more than half of blog-tember challenge prompts. I WAS SOOO CLOSE! There were 30 prompts, and I only ended up following 13 of them. The last week of September just got hectic at work, and I found no time, or maybe no will, to type. I'll get 'em next time!
    4. Hit the gym. Kinda, yes and no. I'll (somewhat) explain a little more below, because I have a new type of goal I want to complete that relates to the gym.
    5. Take photos. oops. I didn't. But, I did find myself taking a lot more videos in September than I normally do. But, then again, snapchat makes that easier nowadays.
    October Goals!

    1. Work and save.
This month, my goal is to make as much money as I can, and save as much as I can as well. As you all know, I start school back in January. And, I am go fortunate to have parents to pay for both my sister and I school funds, but I still want to help out. I've been working towards this goal for months. The ultimate goal is to save up to pay the entire tuition, but making at least half would be great as well!

    2. Update old posts.
During one of the prompts from the blog-tember challenge, I went through my old posts and found a few that I want to update and edit a bit, and a few where I just want to straight up delete. Although I would love to keep some of my pasts posts the way they are, I feel like they are also the most many readers keep coming back to... Definitely want to be on my A-game for everything.

    3. Beginners Yoga.
I've decided it is time I start something new. And that something new is Yoga! I actually have legitimate reasons why I want/need to start yoga. So, please, don't think this is a phase I'm going to start and finish. I've been having back problems over the past couple of years, to the point where I feel my spine isn't straight anymore. Scary, I know. But, yoga is suppose to help with my posture. And, I'm hoping with this, it will be the first step to getting a strong and healthy back and posture.

    4. Read (of course).
Remember I mentioned that I have a reading goal of 20 books for 2016? Well, I've finished 14 books so far, and I am more motivated than ever to continue this. I actually like reading. It brings me joy, and my eyes like it so much better than staring at the bright-lit screen of my laptop or tv binge watching shows. At least, reading is helping my mind stay active.

    September Goals!

    Hello, friends!

It is Friday. It is the second day of August. And, this weekend is going to be a long weekend! After tonight's shift, I get to come home and sleep the night away, and even enjoy a couple more hours of sleep in the morning. You already know that I will be sleeping in this weekend. I've been exhausted this week, and I just really need to catch up on my sleep.

But, before thinking about tomorrow, let's focus on today (kind of!) Today is day 2 of the blogtember challenge, and here I am, posting again! Yay, 2/2!

Fri., Sept 2: Share a list of your current goals.

Since it is August, I decided to share my August goals with you all!

    August Goals Revisited
    1. Don't touch the credit card. Ooppps. But, at least I used it only 5 times this month! Thats an improvement if you ask me.
    2. Work
    3. Keep active
    4. Blog more
    5. Watch less netflix, and read more. Yes, I am actually impressed with myself that I didn't watch a lot anything on netflix!!
    This Month's Goals
    1. REPLY BACK.
Why am I so bad at this?? Whether it is a text message, Facebook message, or even blog comments, I seem to have such a bad habit of reading messages and then telling myself, oh I'll just reply later. Later never happens. My goal this month is to reply the moment after I read a message. This goes for blog comments as well... Definitely need to get back to a lot of your comments... sorry

    2. Read a book
I'm not sure how August flew by without me reading a single book... It just seems odd. I know I'm a slow reader, but I usually read at least 2 books a month... I just don't know how I started reading a book at the beginning of the month, and just never got around to finishing it. This month, the goal is to simply read one book. Haha, this should be simple! I'm really not that busy.

    3. Complete more than half of blogtember prompts!
If you didn't already know, I decided to participate in Bailey's 3rd annual blogtember blogging challenge! For the entire month of September, my main goal is to participate in at least half of the given prompts! In previous years I participated, but not for the entire month. With a little bit of planning, I really think this time will be different!

    4. Hit the gym
This month, my gym membership has most definitely got its money's use. Not only did I use my membership perks to hit the gym more often during the week, but also worked out in different locations of the city! I loved the change of vibe, and this month I really want to continue this momentum.

    5. Take photos
This month, I want to take more photos! My camera roll is full of pictures of my work schedule... and Penelope of course. I need to change that. Maybe I can take a photo a day, whether it is my view of the day, or a selfie, I just want to take more photos this month! Especially of pretty things.

    August Goals!

Guys, how is it August?? Why is time flying? I'm still here figuring out what adventures I want to go on this summer, but then I find out summer is quickly coming to an end. What on earth am I doing with my time??? And, today... is Civic Holiday? And, (kinda) don't have plans for a holiday? I'm clearly a mess. Maybe, I need to start setting clearer goals or something...
    July Goals Revisted:
    1. Read a book (or two). Currently on book number 2 right now!
    2. Online course.
    3. Workout at least 3 times a week.
    4. Bring food to work. I did bring food to work, on most days.. but, there were still at least 3 times I had to buy.
    5. Stay positive.
    6. Create a vlog.
    This Month's Goals

    1. Don't touch the credit card.
One of my main goals before school starts is to pay off the credit card. I feel like this is the best time to work on this goal because I am not in school, yet. Once school begins, I already know I'm going to have less shifts, and therefore have a harder time paying it off. So, better do it now. And, it will help if I don't touch the credit card. I've done it once before for 1 month. I know I can do it again in August.

    2. Work.
Like I mentioned in the goal above, this is the best time to make my money. I have more shifts than I normally get during the school year. So, what I'm doing is not only trying to pay off my credit card, but I'm saving money for school. My parents helped me pay for school for the last 4 years of uni, this time, of course my parents are going to help, but I want to help as well. So, let the saving continue!

    3. Keep Active.
Last month, I did more walking than usual... AND I LOVED IT. If I had the choice of driving somewhere or walking, I took the walking option. I have a phone app that counts my steps (because it's 2016 and we literally do not go anywhere without our phones). Anyways, looking back at the app, my goal was to take at least 6000 steps a day. And, looking at the chart of my steps, more than half of the month, I did take more than 6000 steps a day! So, this month, I want to keep this up! Perhaps have a goal of 10,000 steps a day? We'll see where the days take us.

    4. Blog more.
I'm not sure if I am tired, or if I have no motivation, but for the past few months, I haven't been active on the blog. That really makes me sad. There was once a time where I literally wrote once a day on here - whether it has been about my day, or something interesting I found. Lately, its either I do not have an idea, or I do not have the time. Regardless, I need to step up my blogging game.

    5. Watch less netflix, and read more.
Even though I watched everything I could have possibly wanted to watch on Netflix, I still have this desire to go home, lay down in my pyjamas, and just watch anything. Even if it is a repeat. I feel like my eye sight is getting worse... especially, if I'm watching TV shows/movies from my laptop. Time to give my eyes a break and read a book. I've been loving the feelings of reading books lately, so I would love to continue this!

    July Goals!

    July Goals!

I feel like I constantly say this at the beginning of every month, but I'll say it again... I cannot believe how fast the last month flew! And, look... we are already entering into the 5th day of July, and I am already (kind of, sort of) late with my July goals.

I feel like a broken record when I say that the past month has been hectic. Will I get to what I've been up to exactly... most likely. But, for now, bare with me. I'm honestly doing my best to get back into my regular blogging schedule. But, for now... let's get to the goals that sets up the rest of the month, shall we?

    This Month's Goals

    1. Read a book (or two).
My eyes hurt from all my binge watching on Netflix. I need a change of pace, and I definitely need to give my eyes a rest. I recently found a few books that caught my eye at the library. It's just about choosing which one to read first. But, I will finish one, hopefully two this month! (Gotta keep up with my goal of reading 20 books this year!)

    2. Online course.
Believe it or not, I've been taking an online course after graduating. Why? Well, I want to update my resume. One of my main personal goals throughout the past few months was to leave my part-time job, and get another, preferably in a hospital/clinic setting.  I think gaining experience in the field I soon aspire to work in is important, I am willing to do what it takes. So, taking a medical terminology course and applying for a secretary position in the hospital is the big "what's next" for me.

From what my mom tells me, once you're in (i.e., working in a union at the hospital), human resources will look internally first before looking for outside candidates when it comes to new job openings. Since the ultimate goal is to become a nurse, and work for a union, I think gaining that connection now will help me later on.

    3. Workout at least 3 times a week.
I've been slacking when it came to the gym last month. I'm not sure what happened exactly. But, I feel like my body is the heaviest it has ever been and I'm not exactly happy with the look of my body. I cannot just sit at home expecting a change. I need to make it happen. Oh, especially since my cousins' wedding is in August. Definitely want to look my best.

    4. Bring food to work.
Sometimes I bring my own food to work... but, then there are other days where I just had no time the night before to prepare anything. I usually end up buying from the same few places near by, and believe me... IT ADDS UP. I'm hoping this month to take it down a notch, and stick to my guns and stop purchasing food for lunch.

    5. Stay positive.
A lot has been going on lately. And, lately not caring and assume the worst is what I've become good at. When I take a look back at June, I don't have as many amazing and fun memories as I did in the other months. Why? Because I wasn't being positive. This month, a positive outlook on everything (even the bad) is a must. I need to get my happy groove back on. I need to remind myself that there is always something good waiting.

    6. Create a vlog.
I've been pushing this off for months. I really don't have any excuses, especially since the sun is out shining brightly than ever, and the lighting in and outside of my room is on point. Definitely want to make at least one blog per month!

    May Goals!

    05 May 2016

    May Goals!

April flew by so quickly! It was a very busy month, but I feel like it was worth it! The majority of the month I was at home or at the library studying for my exams. Although I was fortunate enough to enrol in classes that didn't have exams, I didn't have that many exams to study for. But, I did have a lot of essays and assignments to write. I think those are what took up the majority of my time. Oh, then when I was done my exams, you'd think I was laying in bed catching up on sleep -- but, nope. Instead I was busy trying to take as many shifts as I could at work to make the money I lost due to exams.

So, yeah. April was really busy, and I will admit... I was really neglecting the blog. When I was looking over my blog, it feel so empty -- like no life. And, that made me sad. Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, I decided it was the right time to launch my new blog name + look to spark things up on here! Hopefully, this will motivate me a little more for May!

Some of your favourite posts from April:
    April Goals Revisited:
    1. Study, study, study
    2. Ace my exams!
    3. Don't Touch the credit card -- haha this is crossed half way because I used it literally three times this month, one as a means to pay for my phone bill!
    4. Stay healthy.
    5. Pre-plan, schedule and post.
    May Goals!
    1. Work, Work, Work.
Yes, sing Rihanna's song while reading my first goal. This is probably going to be my main goal this summer. I want to work and make money. A lot of money to spend on myself, and more money to save for school, especially for expensive books. So, yes, my goal this month is take as many extra shifts as I can, and whenever someone tries to give their shift away, I will try my best to take it! Money is definitely on my mind.

    2. Take pictures.
I notice that I don't much photos lately. My goal this month is find the beauty of life and capture it. Capture anything that makes me happy, anything that looks pretty, or anything that looks instal-worthy. I want to capture it all!

    3. Walk more.
Walking is the best form of exercise. I want to make it goal to walk to work at least once this month. According to google maps, a normal 5 minute drive is approximately a 30 minute walk. Not bad for some daily exercise if you ask me!

    4. Study.
I know what you're thinking... Study for what? Didn't you just say you finished school? Yes, I did finish school. I now just need to study for an entrance exam... some good old chemistry, biology and math. Definitely need to brush up on a few things before just writing the exam just like that! Wish me luck!

    5. Don't touch the credit card.
Like I mentioned, I am getting better at this over the months. Hopefully this month I will resort to using my credit card less than 5 times.

    April Goals!

If you've yet to notice, I made some changes on my blog! The layout is still the same, I just changed and switched around the colour scheme. And, I LOVE IT! I love how sleek, and classy my blog looks. Sometimes, simplicity is beauty! Hopefully this change motivates me to be on here a little more!

The past 2 months have been such a struggle.  I cannot even begin to describe how school and life got in the way. And, I really do apologize for not being as active here  as I once was in the past. Hopefully, this month will be different, especially since this is my last official month of under-grad!

Let's get into the goals, shall we?

    This Month's Goals!

    1. Study, study, study.
Like I said, this is my last official month as an undergrad student! This means, all I have to do is get through exams, and then I will officially be done with my undergrad in university! What's next for me? Who knows what the future holds, but for now, exams are on my mind. And, with that, leads to goal #2.

    2. Ace my exams!
    What's better than finishing strong???

    3. Don't touch the credit card.
I feel like I'm going to end up writing this goal every month. I seem to be doing really well for the first half of the month, then all of a sudden, I have this urge to spend during the second half of the month. Not sure what and where I am going wrong; need to figure it out before the spending goes out of control!

    4. Stay healthy.
With this month being exam month, I can already sense the amount of junk food I'm going to resort to, and the days without sleep I will most likely go through. Therefore, another goal for this month is to stay healthy. This not only includes nutrition, but also a healthy mind. Staying positive will help me get through the upcoming stressful time.

    5. Pre-plan, schedule and post.
I already know it is going to be a struggle balancing both my exams and my blog this month. So, the goal is to preplan a few posts and schedule them ahead of time! I'm thinking of using moments, like taking a "break" from studying to watch an episode or two on netflix, to catch up on either editing posts, or writing a few.

Do you share some of the same goals as me?
