Kylie Lip Kit by Kylie Cosmetics | Review + VIDEO

GUESS WHAT?!

I FINALLY got lucky enough to get my hands on all 7 of the Kylie Lip Kit from Kylie Jenner's makeup brad, Kylie Cosmetics! If you've been trying to get your hands on these since December, then you'd already know how quickly these lip kits have been selling out! That's why I said I was lucky. But, because demand is really high for these, I ended up making 2 separate transactions in order to get all 7!

So... I thought it would be fun to make a video for you guys! So, pretty much EVERYTHING I would have said in this blog post is in the video. I also tried on EACH lip kit colour for you all to see, and hopefully give you a better sense of how these colours would look on someone with a lighter brown skin tone.

Any who, each lip kit includes a liquid lipstick and a lip liner, retailing for the price of $29 USD. Pretty great deal if you ask me.... especially since you are getting BOTH.

Overall, I really love the formula and the available colours! My favourites have to be Posie K, Dolce K, and Mary Jo K! Oh, and I have to say, 22 is growing on me, don't be surprise if that will be my go-to summer fave!

Have you tried Lip Kit?? Which ones are your favourite?

E.L.F. Online Shopping Haul

E.L.F. Online Shopping Haul

*this is not a sponsored post!*

Lately, I've been making more of a conscious effort to purchase and use that are animal cruelty free. And, being a student with a part-time job, it was just not practical and realistic for me to get rid of everything an start a new. My plan, instead, was to slowly and surely finish what I already have, and start slowly stacking up on new product.

I did a lot of research, and to my surprise, there are actually a lot of companies that do not test or hurt animals in any way shape or form. Like I said, I'm a full-time student with a part-time job... I was on a budget and decided to try a bunch of products from E.L.F (Eyes, Lips, and Face) Cosmetics.

DETAILS
Date of purchase: December 17, 2015
Where? Online at E.L.F. Cosmetics

At the time of my purchase, Target no longer exists in Canada, and Target was pretty much the only place in Canada you could buy these cosmetics. SUCKS. I had no choice and was left with purchasing a haul online. I was a bit nervous because I had to basically guess which pigmentation would look best for me... especially the foundation.

Items Purchased:

Eyebrow Kit - $3 USD
I have to admit, when I was deciding to purchase this, the hardest part was selecting which shade would look best for me. At the end, I chose the medium shade, and I have to say this, I am EXTREMELY happy with this product. This is definitely a must have. The only con I have, is that I really (or rarely) use the powder part, mostly just the gel.

Blush - $3 USD
I was excited about this one. After watching a few youtube reviews, a lot of beauty gurus had great things to say about the blushes (and the different shades). One thing I kept hearing was how pigmented the pigs were, and how lovely it showed on their skin. I needed a new blush anyways, so I decided why not! Turns out, I LOVE IT. Not too blatantly pink, but noticeable at the same time. Oh, I ended up purchasing the shade Tickeled Pink!

Contour Palette - $6 USD
When I saw this online, I was really excited to get my hands on this. I didn't really see any reviews on this particular products, besides the reviews on the actual E.L.F. website, so, I was a bit nervous. After trying it ONCE, I have to say, I did not like it. It was very messy and wore off easily. I do have to say, the they did have great pigmentation. It was just a complete miss for me, however.

Matte Lip Color - $3 USD
I LOVED THIS. This is a must have, and I cannot believe how easy it was to apply it! I loved how it looked as if I applied lipstick on instead of this lip pencil. This was a great product. Nothing bad to say! I got the colour Scarlet Night which was a nice tone of purple; and it was bold, which was perfect for the season fall.

EX-tra Lip Gloss - $2 USD
I purchased the color Luke, which was a nice tone of purple. (Could you tell I was really shopping for the cold season?). So where do I begin with this? Depending on my mood and the look I am going for, this product was both hit and miss for me. HIT because it has such a beautiful pigmentation; MISS because it didn't last as long on my as I expected...

Illuminating Mist and Set - $4 USD
I can honestly say I used this product a total of 3 times. I personally like it! It definitely holds my makeup in place. The only CON about this product is that I feel it makes my face look glittery.

Daily Brush Cleaner - $3 USD
Honestly, I haven't used this product yet. I really need to find the time to thoroughly clean my makeup brushes first, before I start using them again to apply makeup, and THEN use the daily brush cleaner. Something I really need to get a move on with.

Acne Fighting Foundation - $6 USD
I have to say, I was really impressed with this foundation! It was not greasy at all, which is a HUGE plus for me, and it has GREAT coverage. It really does help cover redness, acne and the acne scars I have. I haven't experienced any breakouts, but I did read others who did.

So, I think it really depends on skin type. One CON I have to say is that after a while, my T-zone does get a bit oily/shiny. But, dabbing it or applying powder can easily fix it. This is hands down my NEW favourite foundation. I will gladly spend shipping fees just to have this product in my hands. I LOVE IT!

P.S. for this purchase, I ended up buying 2 different colours because I didn't know which would look best with my skin tone since I was purchasing online. I ended up purchasing coffee and caramel. Coffee was a bit dark on me; but caramel is literally my PERFECT shade.

Ultimate Blending Brush - $6 USD
I haven't used this product yet -- not really sure as to why. But, I did read and watch GREAT reviews!

11 Piece Brush Collection - $30.00 USD
This 11 piece set includes a case, eyeshadow brush, complexion brush, small angled brush, small smudge brush, fan brush, powder brush, angled foundation brush, concealer brush, small precision brush, blush brush, and contour brush.
Haven't used all of them yet -- but, I'm getting to it. So, expect a review for this shortly ;)

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall, I honestly have to say that I am HAPPY with my purchases from E.L.F. Yes, there are some cons, but I personally experienced a lot of pros. Going cruelty free wasn't as hard as I thought, and I found just as good, if not better products from a company that doesn't test on animals than products that do.

Have you tried E.L.F. products before? Which ones do you want to try?

From the Journal: As of Lately

From the Journal: As of Lately

-- The following post is an unedited accounts of my thoughts --

I think I'm in a rut. I’ve been feeling this sort of way for a while.

I’m nervous.

I’m anxious.

I want time to slow down just a bit.

Does anyone else feel like time is going by way to fast? I literally wake up, go to school, or go to work, then come home late into the day, stay in my room and either do some school work or catch up on Netflix. Then, it is 2 am, time for bed. Whether I intend it or not, this has been “typical” day for the past couple of weeks.

School and a part-time job and a social life tires me out. Sometimes, I do find myself just wanting to sleep the day away.

I’m not depressed; believe me, I know how that feels like from past experience.

I think what it really is the fact that reality is QUICKLY settling in, and it is very nerve racking.

I’m about to graduate university. Shouldn’t I be more excited? Well, I’m not. I am not as excited as my family and sister. I am more… withdrawn about the entire idea. I feel like I’m not ready. I’m not sure whether or not this is a good or bad thing, but I feel like the rest of my life is a complete blur, and I don’t like that.

I like having a plan. I like to know what is going to happen (this is why I usually search up for spoilers). But, still. I just feel like I’m not ready to leave school. I don’t know what it is, but there is something comforting about being in school and just learning about something I absolutely find interesting.

Maybe I’m not ready to see what is next for me. Maybe I’m not ready to be “grown-up” and really get my career going. Maybe I just want to live in carefree one more day.

I really don’t know what it is exactly. This is the first time I’m really talking about what I’ve been feeling for weeks. And, it feels good to put my thoughts down for me to read.

Right Click, and Paste #2

Right Click, and Paste #2

Around this time last year, I participated in Mama Kat's Losing It writing workshop. And, as I was browsing through some of my old blog posts, I came across one titled, "Right Click, and Paste".  The idea behind it is pretty simple: right click, and paste. Whatever is pasted from your clipboard, write about it! So, hence the title of this post, I'm doing it again!

Here is what I pasted:
#justiceforoliver
I didn't even realize that I had this copied. The story behind this straightforward and not funny or fun. This will be more of a serious post, ( direction I really did not intend this post to have.

Here is the story: A friend of mine shared a Facebook post with the hashtag "justice for Oliver". I was curious... Never came across this hashtag before, and I guess I copied the hashtag and pasted it into the Facebook search engine. I came across a very disturbing post that left me both sad and angry.

This is the original post - but, I took a screen shot for you to read yourself...
All I have to say is that the situation is extremely unsettling and upsetting. All I can do on my end is simply share the Facebook post to bring awareness to others, and in hopes to really bring justice for Oliver. Also, I will be praying for Oliver and his family. This is definitely something that should be brought to everyone's attention.

Once again, if you want to read the original post, and perhaps share it yourself, CLICK HERE.

March Goals

March Goals

MARCH. It is March, and on my goodness has it been forever since I've posted on here. I really have no excuses, it just poor time hanging on my end when it came to studying and writing assignments, AND actually taking the time to prepare and post on here. Enough of my endless apologies, let's get to my goals for the month!
P.S. Some of these goals might look familiar from previous posts, but thats because I need to obviously work on them again this month :)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This Month's Goals!
1. Stay ahead.
I like the way I am currently working when it comes to my assignments. I find myself not entirely waiting until the very last minute to work on them. Starting ahead of time, even if it is one little thing helps A LOT. Definitely going to keep up this momentum until the end of the year!
2. No credit card.
I must say, this goal is definitely harder than I initially assumed it would be. This month, I really need to make more of an effort to at least use it less - especially on food (can't really return that...). OH, and I really need to stop with online shopping -- this does not help with my credit card situation.
3. Post on here again.
I say post on here again because I was clearly absent in February. Like I said, a lot of things came up, and I didn't know how to manage everything. This month, doesn't seem too busy for school. The goal is to plan and PREPARE ahead of time; and perhaps even schedule the post! This should be fun because I have a lot of ideas for this month!
4. Re-watch Full House.
FULLER HOUSE is now on netflix!!! Obviously you knew that, everyone does. When I watched the first episode, I literally teared at the idea of how I grew up watching this show! And, all these nostalgic memories and feelings came out of nowhere. The first episode of Fuller House honestly felt like I was watching Full House for the first time again. So, I decided to re-watch all of Full House before actually finishing Fuller House! I mean, why not.
This is a legit goal. You have to agree with me on that..
5. Record, edit and post a video!
I don't usually make videos, especially for my blog. If anything, I record a lot of videos on snapchat -- but it is not the same. This month, the goal is to make at least one video. It could be about anything, and I think I already have an idea for my first video idea! So, hopefully this doesn't fall through :) :) :)
6. Hit the gym.
As of February, I can honestly say that I went to the gym at least twice a week. This month, I want to put more of an effort, and really focus on cardio. I wanna lose my tummy (the initial goal). But, my ultimate goal is to lose a healthy amount of weight for graduation, which is in June. So, I better get started.
Do you share some of the same goals as me?
