Hey everyone! So, believe it or not, I've been nominated for another Liebster award by John from ShoutJohn! But, technically speaking, this is actually my 6th time. I just never got around to writing a post for my other 2 nominations, and I honestly can't even find who nominated me, and which blog post to check out.... But, its all good! Being nominated is still a great feeling!

The questions John gave me:
1. My blog is a mixture of everything. But if you had to choose one topic for your blog forever - what would it be?
As you can all tell, my blog is also is mixture of pretty much everything. But, if I had to choose to blog about one topic, it would probably be about my travelling! I used to do a lot of travelling when I was younger, where school didn't require too much of my attention, and it was cheaper, but I don't do so anymore. Being able to travel the world is a dream of mine, and what way to keep its memory alive but by blogging about it!
2. What was the last lie you told? This is actually dumb. Last night, late into the evening, my friend and I were texting each other about our papers due that same night. She told me she finished, and I lied to her saying all I had left was the conclusion. That was a lie. I had to talk about one more primate, and then do the conclusion (it was an anthropology research paper).
3. What question do you hate to answer? Urg, I hate when people ask me about my future plans for careers. Like, I'm the type of person who constantly changes my mind. This is why I won't ever get a tattoo because I probably won't be able to decide to where to put the tattoo. Anyways, I find the question sooo stressful. Like, my goal right now is to graduate university. I'm not ready to be an adult and all on my own and stuff.
4. Which of the four seasons do you love? I absolutely LOVE summer. I never used to like this season, but because Canada gets extremely cold in the winter, I started to dislike the cold, and started to gravitate towards the warmth. So, I love the summer, and I don't care how hot it gets! I'll take hot over cold anytime.
5. What cheers you up? This might sound weird, but singing cheers me up. No, thats not the weird part. The part that cheers me up is where I imagine I'm on broadway, so I sing songs from Wicked, or even Funny Girl. I don't want to be on broadway... but something about it makes me sooo happy! (Maybe that's why I love Glee!)
6. Where is your quiet place? (where you go to think or be alone) If I tell you this, you have to promise not to come find me if you ever feel like I'm missing.... Its the book store Chapters or the library. I don't know what it is, but being surrounded by books just calms me down. I love it!
7. What do you value most in a relationship? Being in a relationship right now, it's difficult to just choose one thing. I think, I would have to say trust and honesty.  I feel like those two go hand in hand as you can't trust someone if they are constantly telling you lies. And a everyone knows a relationship is doom the moment you don't trust your partner and start going through their phone. Trust and honesty is definitely something I value.
8. What is the most played song you listen to?

This song is just absolutely beautiful, and the words just get me every time!

9. If you could choose to stay a certain age forever, what age would it be? I'm currently 20 years old. And I think I would love to stay this age forever! I'm still young and not too old, so I don't have too many responsibilities. Also, high school sucked in comparison to university, I would never want to be in my high school years where all these adults expect so much. I dunno if I'm making sense. But I like being 20.
10. At what age would you say - 'you grew up'? Honestly, I would have to say the whole, "you are legally an adult now" changed me when I turned 19 years old. I don't know what triggered it, but I just decided to get my shit together and "grew up". Hey, I even became a better role model for my sister and little cousins when it came to school, and those of those who looked up to me in cadets.
11. Do you think 'everything happens for a reason'? Yes. And I say it because God has a plan for us. HE would never put us through things he knows we wouldn't be able to handle. This situations/events/things that happen to us tests us, and makes us realize who we really are.

My answers to Lisa's questions:
1. What is your favourite vacation/getaway spot? Anywhere that is away from the cold! Yes, I absolutely love the sun, and the heat, and just summer all year round.  I actually love visiting my cousins in San Francisco, California.  We try to go down there as often as we can since my entire moms side of the family is basically there, and so just being with them is all I could ask for. The best kind of vacation depends on the ones whom you spend it with!
2. What is your ideal date night? My ideal date is very simple - as long as I spend time with Jay and we just have a great time doing what, then that is perfect enough for me.  See I'm a very simple girl, I don't like all the attention on me all the time, so if we end up just going to the movies, and dinner afterwards, I'm actually okay with that. It's all about quality time.
3. If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live? and why? First of all, I would live somewhere warm. Well thats the plan I have anyways. But if I could live anywhere in the world, I would honestly live in Paris, France. The first time I went there, I was instantly in love with the scenery and just the beauty that every corner had.
4. What is your favourite TV show that you can't miss a week without watching? I honestly cannot miss an episode of Pretty Little Liars. Ever since the first season, I've just been hooked into the story line. Although I feel that the show has been going on for a while, I still have the urge to make sure I have my popcorn and chips ready to watch the show, every Tuesday night!
5. Why did you start blogging? I actually started blogging with the intention of just expressing myself without my friends knowing about it. I just wanted a place to write down about my day, or my experiences and read other's experiences as well. And in doing so, I was hoping that I would somehow find myself. 
6. When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up? When I was a child, I always wanted to become a paediatrician. I always had a great experiences whenever I went to the doctors, and that they just provided me a safe and fun environment.  So I think its safe to say, based on my great experiences, I knew I wanted to do the same for little babies one day when I grew up.
7. Do you prefer cats or dogs or neither? and why? I prefer dogs. I find dogs more sociable and more livable when it comes to the owner-pet relationship. I genuinely think that dogs have a soft spot for their family and I think they are such great friends to play around with whenever you're feeling lonely.
8. Have you ever participated in a Random Act of Kindness? Yes I have! I am proud to say that I've actually done a few in January, and I'm ready to dominant the random act of kindness in February!
9. Who is your favourite celebrity? My favourite celebrity at the moment has to definitely be Harry Styles. YES, I am very fond of him since the first time I saw One Directions blogs on youtube when they were still on X-Factor UK.  I've been a fan ever since, and although I have yet to see him in person, he is definitely my favourite. No explanation needed.
10. Which one of your posts is your favourite blog post ever? I personally have two favourite posts, and that's because it has to do with Jay.  Thankful for You. Tangible Object, Intangible Value
11. What is the best advice you were given, and by whom? The best advice I've ever receive has got to be, "Do it for you and for no one else." My dad told me this when I was struggling a few years ago trying to figure out what programs I would be applying for university. He told me that of course he wants me to have a great future, but he also said that at the end of the day, it is the life I am going to be living with.  He told me that one day when he and mother are gone, I am the one still living with what I worked for. So I need to work towards something that I will enjoy and not regret in the future. I love you dad.

Good morning everyone!

It's day 24 of blogmas, but most importantly, it is Christmas Eve! I'm actually so excited to open all the gifts friends and family got me, and I am even more excited to just spend a day with my family!

Anyways, today's post is a little different from what I normally post.  The lovely Katie May has recently nominated me for The Liebster Award!

For those of you who are unfamiliar with this, as I was, The Liebster Award is for people who have 200 or less followers on their blog to help let readers get to know more about the blogger and to help the blogger gain more followers. Here are the few rules that need to be followed:

11 Facts About Myself:

1. I am a confused student currently majoring in Psychology and Anthropology at University of Toronto

2. I have a huge obsession of drinking from a newly opened water bottle (like I literally don't drink from the water bottle I previously opened like 30 minutes ago)

3. My hair is naturally straight and long 

4. I am a huge fan of the colour pink (which explains my macbook cover and iPhone case)

5. I love eating ethnic foods!

6. I dislike the cold

7. The relationship I am currently in, is my longest one

8. I am currently hungry

9. I am 5'1 

10. My favourite kind of chocolate is Ferrero Rocher

11. I am a huge Harry Style lover!

11 Questions Katie May asks:

1. Favourite Social Media

My absolute favourite social media is Instagram! It's something I go on everyday, including the moment I wake up. -> @oulalanessaa is my instagram if you were wondering!

2. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?

In 5 years, I see myself hopefully graduating from university with a nursing degree.  Right now I am currently trying to switch into the nursing program, so I honestly am hoping for this. 

In 10 years, I see myself out of my parents house hopefully having a steady career as a nurse, and hopefully engaged, or if not married already. 

3. Do you believe in Karma?

YES! I am a huge advocate of Karma.  I definitely believe in what goes around comes around, and if you do something shitty, you better expect something worst to happen to you. 

Trust me, just ask one of my cousins who decided to betray my sister Ashley, my cousin Neisha and I by snaking us to our entire family in Canada, and family back home.  Although this event happened around 3 years ago, their karma is hitting them pretty badly now. 

4. Must have winter wardrobe item?

It has to be my boots!!! It is a no no to go out in the winter (especially when there is snow outside) and ruin your shoes in the snow or the salt you are stepping on.  It is especially not the best feeling having snow go inside your shoe and I just hate that feeling of wearing wet socks!

5. Favourite food to eat?

My favourite food to eat is both spaghetti and lasagna.  OH my! Just even thinking about it makes me want to eat some right now.  I think its because of the meet and cheeses! I love cheese!

6. What is the last book you read?

The last book I read is called Righteous Dopefiend from Philippe Bourgois and Jeffrey Schonberg.  I actually wrote about this, so if you're interested click here to read what I wrote about this book! 

7. What advice would you give to the younger you?

Don't put your trust in others easily.  There are people out there who will use your secrets against you because they are either jealous or tired of your successes.  Figure out who you're true friends are quickly because it is better to be with a few GREAT and RELIABLE friends than with a lot of fake bitches. 

8. If you could go back to any day in your life, which day would it be?

This one is a hard one... I think I would go back to this one summer (I think 2 years ago) where I did something that will definitely hurt my best friend if he ever found out. It is something I truly regret, and I would just go back and not do the stupidness I did, just so I don't have to live with this lie and secret. 

9. Favourite Season?

SUMMER - no snow, no cold, my hair doesn't frizzle. It's the best.

11. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I was going through rough times where I didn't know how to express my feelings.  Yes Jay is always there for me, but there are some things that he just doesn't understand... so it's hard.  So I decided to create a private blog writing about my feelings.. something like a diary.  Then the more I blogged, the more blogs I started following and I decided to create a more positive blog to express my positivity more than the negative in my life...
