Twenty Thoughts on Turning Twenty

Guess what!

Today is my birthday, and I turn 20 years old. Oh-em-geee. I didn't think this would be a big deal, because I didn't feel much of a difference in my past birthdays. But, I don't know what it is, this one feels absolutely different! As I was staying up to work on my assignment (ahead of time I might add), I heard my mother's alarm go off 10 minutes to 12:00am. Then, all of a sudden, I started to get nervous. I'm not sure of what, but I think I was actually nervous about turning 20!

The only other time I could really remember being excited  was for my 13th birthday. I was sooo excited about being a teenager.  Then, as the year gone by, I got less and less excited. Even for my 18th and 19th birthday, yes, of course I was happy, but I wasn't as excited as I was about turning 13. But, here I am. 20 years old, and I don't know if it is just me or not, but I honestly feel different! And this, was something I didn't expect from myself!

So, in honour of my 20th birthday, I decided to share 20 thoughts I have about being in my 20s!
1
1. I want to... study abroad. Or just go to a different country for a year and live through the eyes of another culture.

2.  I'm excited for... my birthday weekend! (well, not this weekend), but in December when I celebrate my bday/jay's bday/ our anniversary!

3. I'm scared... that I won't live up to my own standards!

4. I'm loving... GLEE!

5.  I'm hoping that... I'll graduate from university, and move on to greater things!

6. I'm currently... petting Penelope

7. I want to... take excreting and dieting more seriously!

8.  I'm excited to... get out of my comfort zone and just try new things!

9. I'm grateful for... the love and support I have

10. I'm inspired by... love

11. I want... a puppy or a bunny! Just a little buddy for Penelope!

12. I'm scared and excited... to be brave enough to move out of my parents... eventually!

13. I'm excited to... live day by day in my 20s!

14. I don't want to... get wrinkles!

15. I want to... get married within the next 10 years :)

16. The best thing about being a teenager was... being a teenager and just having my parents to fall back on!

17. I'm hoping... I'll find my dream career that I'll love

18. I want to... learn a new language! Thinking about trying sign language.

19. I'm scared of... getting older

20. I'm thankful for... my life, and being able to make it this far.

Cheers! I'm definitely going to live up my 20s!

Happy Monday bloggers! It is that time of the week to be linking up with Melyssa for Weekly Wishes. This is a great linkup to share weekly goal and receive some encouragement from others who also have wishes/goals for the week!
Last Week's Wishes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last week went by extremely fast! The weeks are going by so quickly that it is honestly getting hard to keep up with what I am suppose to do next and all the things coming up. I'm hoping for the week that I won't be stressed out with all the last minute things I'm probably going to be stuck doing. Let's hope this is a productive week for me!
This Week's Wishes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. PLAN. Soo... my birthday is this Wednesday, and I have decided to go with my friends out of the city. Not this weekend, but another weekend. This week is about planning and finalizing all the details!
  2. Plan blog prompts. I've been busy with school that I missed last week and a few days of blogging.  I decided to plan (like a to do list format) of blog prompts I would be blogging about everyday. Hopefully, I am able to catch up on my blogging for the month!
  3. Start doing research!  I have four papers due this month (well to of them are due Dec. 1). But, still... it is this month. My plan is to get all the research out of the way. At the same time, create an outline, which will defiantly make things easier for when it comes to writing the papers. Hopefully this works out for me
  4. Finish all my assignments. I have sooo many assignments and essays due this week and next week. My goal is to at least start an outline for most of them, and finish them at least 2 days before the due date!
  5. STUDY! I have 2 bell ringer tests next week. I need to start studying and memorizing everything ahead of time!
  6. Hit the gym 4-5 times this week. Yes, I need to make sure I stick to this plan, and actually hit the gym to lose weight and attain my dream body! Also, my birthday is coming up, soooo it would be nice to look great for my birthday weekend!
These are my wishes for the week.  If you're participating and happened to hop onto my blog, leave your link so I can leave some encouragement as well! Have a great Monday, xo

A Beautiful Sight

A Beautiful Sight

Okay, I'm not saying I am an advocate or anything for this type of behaviour, which seems to be deemed from society. I am simply just commenting on its beauty! :)

The other day, I decided to go see my optometrist because, well why else would you go see an eye doctor? I knew my eye sight was getting a bit blurrier than usually, and what was worse, one of the chapters I was studying was about visual impairments. And just staying that chapter and noticing changes in my sight scared the hell out of me! So, I decided to go to the eye doctor to really seeing things straight about whether or not my eye sight was getting a little worse or not.

Turns out I was actually right. My eye sight was getting worse! Okay, I lied. It isn't that bad, so I really shouldn't complain because at I least I am still able to see.  But, you know, I was never really a fan of glasses because I have a big round face. And you can sit there laughing and questioning wha tis going on in my head, but I'm not kidding. I have a big and round face, so most eye glasses frames won't look good on me. It takes me forever to find a style that I like and actually sits on my face properly without making me feel self-conscious. Why else do you think I've gone with contacts for years?

But, this time I decided to get glasses. Why? Well, I was actually still fortunate enough to have a pretty good eye sight. Like, I'm only required to wear my glasses for far distances, like powerpoints  in class. So, instead of wearing contacts, I Decided to go for a change, a change that was also covered by insurance, and have glasses.

So, while waiting at the eye doctors for the lens to put into the frames, I decided to walk around the block. Something I haven't done in a while. I've pretty much been around the area growing up as a kid because my elementary school is around the corner, and babysitter lived really close. So, it was actually really relaxing going down memory lane.

Something that caught my eye however, was the graffiti. Usually graffiti doesn't catch my eye in a positive way, but the ones I saw was just absolutely beautiful. like the colours were just amazing,a and it really made me even more thankful for being able to view the beauty around me. An I'm saying this coming from a test about visual impairments, and the causes and treatments of visual impairments.

So, I guess what I've learnt from that day at the optometrist is that, instead of complaining about have glasses that won't even fit my face, I really should be thankful for having an eye sight. Unfortunately, there are people in the world who don't have the ability, and I really think it is a shame that we who can see, really do take things for granted. This is something I really need to think about when it starts to snow in the near future!

Last Week's Wishes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Last week went by very quickly. So quickly that I felt that I didn't have enough time to study for my tests. Anyways, last week went by really well, and I am hoping to receive my test marks back this week. I am hoping for good marks, so wish me luck on that guys! Now, on to this week's wishes!
This Week's Wishes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. RELAX. I say this with excitement! It has literally been a 6 weeks filled with at least a test a week. This is the first week in weeks where I didn't have to study. I might regret this later one, but I just want to be able to relax before it is back to studying and staying up to write papers. Don't y'all agree?
  2. Plan blog prompts. I've been busy with school that I missed last week and a few days of blogging.  I decided to plan (like a to do list format) of blog prompts I would be blogging about everyday. Hopefully, I am able to catch up on my blogging for the month!

At the same time, create an outline, which will defiantly make things easier for when it comes to writing the papers. Hopefully this works out for me!
  4. Textbook readings. OKay, so just because I no longer have any upcoming tests, I still don't want to be behind when for the upcoming tests. So, I gotta do what I go gotta do in order to finish off strong before my exams!
  5. Hit the gym 4-5 times this week. Yes, I need to make sure I stick to this plan, and actually hit the gym to lose weight and attain my dream body! Also, my birthday is coming up, soooo it would be nice to look great for my birthday weekend!

Confessions of a 3rd Year Uni Student! - Week #7, #8, and #9

Well guys, I know it has been a while since I've been blogging vigorously on my blog, but I've been busy. No, I'm actually serious. I know I always use the excuse of being so busy with school, well this time I am not even kidding. I'll show you a picture of my agenda if I have to, but hey, I don't have to explain myself. Anyways, I've literally been swamped with at least 2 tests per week for the past 6 weeks. So, October has been an absolute killer. And now it is November, this is when all my teachers decide to make paper due!

So what does that mean for me? Well, that means that this week, I FINALLY have a week off from stress. Okay, I lied... I kinda have a week off. This week is basically the only real time I have to do proper research for ALL my papers, and start creating study sheets for my upcoming tests.

Here is a basic overview of what is to come for the next few weeks:
  • Nov. 19 - Submit my ANT211 paper online (then submit a hard copy on Nov. 20)
  • Nov. 25 - ANT332 bell ringer and written test
  • Nov. 27 - ANT334 bell ringer
  • Dec.1 - ANT332 and ANT334 papers are due
  • Dec. 15 - ANT200 exam
  • Dec. 16 - PSY345 exam
  • Dec. 18 - ANT211 exam
Okay... it may look like I have a lot of time in between to get some work done. But, let's be real here. I am a normal normal, and like everyone else, I am bound to put almost everything off until last minute. This is something I do not want to do.

Which is why I'm ruining your Saturday talking about school. Hopefully publicizing my school assignments/tests that I have to start doing will actually make me start doing them, and hopefully a head of time. Like, I already know that the upcoming few weeks will be busy. So, why not do something about it now, right?

Okay. That's basically it. I would try and catch up with the past few weeks that I missed to update you all about how life is going for me in school. But, that boring, especially since it was just basically tests after tests. Nothing new.

Have a great Saturday!

Last Week's Wishes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, soooo.... I think I was able to complete a few of my wishes from last week. For one, I didn't go to the gym because I can't find my t-card, which allows me access to the gym. But, I did clean and reorganized my room (finally), and I am super happy that it looks so clean. I am no longer frustrated when I look around!
This Week's Wishes
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  1. STUDY STUDY STUDY! Okay, I have a busy week... again. I have a test on Wednesday and a test on Thursday. I am stressing out so much because for the past few weeks, I've been having 1-2 tests a week, and now for these tests, I am complete behind with readings. It is insane with the amount of readings I have to ensure to catch up, and I have to study concepts. Sooo much to do, so little time.
  2. Plan blog prompts. I've been busy with school that I missed last week and a few days of blogging.  I decided to plan (like a to do list format) of blog prompts I would be blogging about everyday. Hopefully, I am able to catch up on my blogging for the month!
  3. Find my t-card. If I am unable to find my tcard, my only option is to really purchase to another one. It should only be $12-$13. But, I really wanna hit the gym especially since my birthday is coming up!
