HAPPY NEW YEAR! + 2015 Goals!

Happy New Year everyone! It is officially the first day of 2015 and I am just excited to see what this year has in store for me. 2014 was a pretty good year for me, and I am honestly hoping Newton's law doesn't come true for 2015 (what goes up, must come down). So, this year I will definitely be giving off a lot of positivity in hopes for more positivity to return my way!

In 2014, I found myself struggling with who I am as a person. I learnt new things about me, like what I was capable of doing. However, I also learnt new things that I was afraid of. It weird, 2014 has definitely been a learning process especially when it came to accepting who I am. This year, I will make it more about me rather than others. It is time to put the focus on me, and no more depending on others.

Last year, I wrote down a bunch of goals I wanted accomplish in 2014. This year, it will be no different. This year, I will again share the many goals I have set for myself for the upcoming year. By making it public, it is making me more accountable for what I said I will do. So, here are my goals for 2015:

Blog
  • Make more blogger friends
  • Attempt to comment more on others blogs
  • Co-Host a linkup
  • Reach 200 followers by the end of 2015
  • Create/design a new blog layout!
Career
  • Start to volunteer at hospitals/rehab centres
  • Ask questions to academic counsellor, instead of leaving them wondering in my thoughts
  • Build up references
  • Start looking at grad schools to apply for next year

Fitness and Health
  • Lose up to 40lbs
  • Exercise 4-5 times a week (even if it is just for an hour)
  • Eat healthier
  • Cut the fast food intake (including my favourite.. burgers and fries)
School
  • Raise my GPA to 3.7 on the 4.0 scale
  • Build relationships with my profs (like going to more office hours)
  • Use my agenda more often
  • Study ahead of time
  • NO MORE PROCRASTINATION
Personal
  • Put myself first
  • Sleep regularly and for a good 8 hours
  • Do things that make me happy
  • Work more and spend less
  • Work on myself - physically, emotionally, mentally
  • Learn to be happy with what I have
Okay, so as I was writing these goals, I realized that I probably should have written this post a few days ago... these are definitely not ALL my goals.. but you get the general idea! Happy New Year to you and your families! I hope 2015 will be just as good to you as 2014 was for me!

Twenty Thoughts on Turning Twenty

Twenty Thoughts on Turning Twenty

Guess what!

Today is my birthday, and I turn 20 years old. Oh-em-geee. I didn't think this would be a big deal, because I didn't feel much of a difference in my past birthdays. But, I don't know what it is, this one feels absolutely different! As I was staying up to work on my assignment (ahead of time I might add), I heard my mother's alarm go off 10 minutes to 12:00am. Then, all of a sudden, I started to get nervous. I'm not sure of what, but I think I was actually nervous about turning 20!

The only other time I could really remember being excited  was for my 13th birthday. I was sooo excited about being a teenager.  Then, as the year gone by, I got less and less excited. Even for my 18th and 19th birthday, yes, of course I was happy, but I wasn't as excited as I was about turning 13. But, here I am. 20 years old, and I don't know if it is just me or not, but I honestly feel different! And this, was something I didn't expect from myself!

So, in honour of my 20th birthday, I decided to share 20 thoughts I have about being in my 20s!
1
1. I want to... study abroad. Or just go to a different country for a year and live through the eyes of another culture.

2.  I'm excited for... my birthday weekend! (well, not this weekend), but in December when I celebrate my bday/jay's bday/ our anniversary!

3. I'm scared... that I won't live up to my own standards!

4. I'm loving... GLEE!

5.  I'm hoping that... I'll graduate from university, and move on to greater things!

6. I'm currently... petting Penelope

7. I want to... take excreting and dieting more seriously!

8.  I'm excited to... get out of my comfort zone and just try new things!

9. I'm grateful for... the love and support I have

10. I'm inspired by... love

11. I want... a puppy or a bunny! Just a little buddy for Penelope!

12. I'm scared and excited... to be brave enough to move out of my parents... eventually!

13. I'm excited to... live day by day in my 20s!

14. I don't want to... get wrinkles!

15. I want to... get married within the next 10 years :)

16. The best thing about being a teenager was... being a teenager and just having my parents to fall back on!

17. I'm hoping... I'll find my dream career that I'll love

18. I want to... learn a new language! Thinking about trying sign language.

19. I'm scared of... getting older

20. I'm thankful for... my life, and being able to make it this far.

Cheers! I'm definitely going to live up my 20s!

The NEW Addition

The NEW Addition

Before you get ahead of yourself by the misleading title of this post, no I am NOT pregnant… and I definitely don't plan to either until I know I am ready and have the resources (including finance) to get care of him/her… Anyways, this is besides the point!

For my birthday, Jay decided to surprise me with a little gift… something I had to pick out myself and I was actually curious of what this gift could be.  To me, the little things count, and by him taking me out to dinner on my birthday was more than enough, so this was making me excited.

Anyways, we got to the mall and passed by this pet shop, and we were just looking at the different pets that were around waiting to be taken home.  We've planned on adopting a puppy many times, but never really got around to it as we both know we wouldn't be at home as much due to school and work.  But recently he's been talking about a bunny, and I am absolutely in love with them! Ever since my first pet, a rabbit I received when I was younger, I knew I would want more in the future.

Well in the shop, we stopped at the area where the bunnies were playing and he asked me which one I would want if we were to get one.  And I chose this one little guy that looked like he ran shit in their little community.  LOL and then next thing I knew, Jay was picking out a cage and food for the little guy.  And then bam, the saleslady took him out and handed him to me to hold! I fell in love with him the instant he was in my arms!

So without further ado, I want to introduce to you our little new addition to our family, MJ! If you're asking, why MJ? We named him MJ because he has the sickest jumps I ever seen a rabbit do - He twists himself and just hops at any moment!  And in the cage we got him, there this ramp that has an entrance for him to hide in, and the way he exits his little hideaway, is like an extravagant entrance where he wants everyone to know he is out!

I hope you enjoy the pictures of our little guy!
P.S these are iPhone quality pictures because we didn't want to scare him with a big camera and the flash!

Have a great week!

The Exotic New Addition

The Exotic New Addition

I want everyone to meet the new addition to our family, Leonardo (green) and Cleopatra (pink).  If you were wondering what kind of frogs they are, they are in fact African Clawd Frogs.

It was a fairly hard decision to make with the bf, but we decided it was time to take the next step in our relationship and have a pet together. We didn't go with the traditional route of having a little puppy, as that would be hard since we don't live with each other, so we decided on fish.

At the fish store, we saw a variety of fishes - big, small, long, rainbow, gold, black, everything. It was just amazing.

As we started selecting which fishes we wanted to start off with, we came across a fish tank and saw small little frogs, and we instantly fell in love. At that moment we knew that we had to get the frogs.

When we were at the cash register, our total came up to almost $50, and we were confused as to what we bought - 4 fishes, and 2 frogs, and a new fish tank.

On our way home, they were separated in separate fish baggies, and put them in the tank with the seat belt on.

I kept joking around say, after 3 week, we have 6 new babies.

I'll keep updating you all about our African Clawd Frogs.

Don't be fooled by a Perfect Picture.

21 September 2013

Don't be fooled by a Perfect Picture.

Scrolling down Instagram, whether it's my account, or others peoples account, I can't help but notice the amout of cute couples I see.

When I was younger and used to see my friends post up the amazing pictures of them and their boyfriends, I won't lie ... I was actually jealous.  I remember Fabiola stalking some of them and secretly hoping one day I find a guy to have a perfect relationship with.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am almost 99% sure that almost every girl experiences this. But who could blame us... We are always surrounded with media and movies portraying the perfect love story ... Why can't I have that, I remember always questioning to the Love Gods everytime I watched some romantic movie.

Anyways ... So I grew up, and actually had guys interested in me, you don't understand the amount of pictures I wanted to take with them all them to show my friends.

There was this one relationship, where I honestly thought he would be the one. Everytime I posted a picture of him and I on Instagram, I was always excited and happy about all the comments I received saying "my favourite couple" or "you guys are just too cute".  And I guess we were. It was usually a good day if I ever posted a picture of us, either I felt I was loved or we genuinely had an amazing day together, and I just wanted to take pictures and we happened to look really good in them.

But as time past, I realized first hand how a picture definetly does not tell the entire story. Believe it or not, no matter how perfect we looked together, we always had problems, always.

Looking back, I always blamed him ... But we both had a part to share, it's never just one person. From first hand experience, I know we weren't the perfect couple. Trust me when I say, we had a lot of issues and problems.

Whether it would be my jealousy, over caring, over protected, or his lack of interest in me, too much time on his car or him being a complete jerk, somehow we managed to fool everyone into thinking we were so happy together.

Don't get me wrong though, we obviously had more up days than down ones ... But the down ones hurt the most, and the hurt u experience, is the one you remember for a long time.

We are in love, and there's no doubt in the amount of love I have for him, and the love he has for me. We may take the best pictures together, and look so good with each other, we are only human and we do have a share of a lot of problems. Problems that I am sure may seem so dumb to an outsider, but to us... We made it become our entire everything and jus never let it go.

But things always change ... So I'm honestly hoping we start to slowly understand each other to walk into the right path with each other hand in hand. Because (and he knows this), if I didn't love, care and appreciate him as much as I do, I wouldn't have been there for him from beginning until the end yesterday.

Wishing for the best, but expecting the worst..
