Jumping Down the Rabbit Hole
In celebration of my 200th post, I decided to talk
about the love of my life... Penelope! Since she is a huge (and important) part
of my life, I actually took my time and care when writing a post that is
dedicated to my favourite bunny in the world! (Don't tell MJ - Jay's rabbit- I told you Penelope is my favourite!)
When I was just a little girl, I remember having all sorts of pets - birds, hamsters, fishes, gerbils... you name it and I'll say I probably had one. But my favourite pet, was my rabbit. I think I named her Anna (or something like that). I don't remember much, since I was very young, but she was such mischief bunny (as my mother remembers). All I remember was her being a dark bunny who liked to run away from my mom whenever my mother would try and put Anna back in her cage. My mom also remembers how I would never help her do so (sorry mom!). And then one night, I remember my cousin came over to take my rabbit when our family was going on vacation in just a few short days... I never saw my rabbit and still have no explanation what had happened to her.
Ever since, I remember constantly begging my parents to get another rabbit, but I was never able to convince them as we all know it would mostly likely be my parents who would end up taking care of the rabbit. Instead, my parents continued to provide a lifetime supply of fishes which I was pretty much okay for a few months since I was way too busy at the time to even take care of an animal if I had one.
Then on my birthday a few month ago, Jay bought me a little rabbit whom we named MJ. (Click HERE to read my post about him!) Because my room wasn't "rabbit proof", Jay decided to have MJ live with him for a while... but as time flew, I could already see the connection between Jay and MJ, and I kinda felt bad about breaking that apart. So a few months ago, Jay bought me my very own bunny! He picked out the smallest one, and most cutest bunny from the pet store had so that she would grow old with me and build a connection like MJ and Jay had. This was the best gift he could have ever give me!
| When Jay and I first introduced MJ to Penelope! (as you could tell, we had to hold him back since he was too excited to meet her!) |
Since the day Jay got me Penelope, I was instantly fell in love! From her half black/half white fur to how small and delicate she was when I first held her. In that moment, I instantly I knew I wanted to name her Penelope with the hopes that one day that she would enjoy wearing a pink bow, which never happened. But, nevertheless, I had no idea the amount of love I can have for another living being... trust me; even Jay is surprised at how much love and attention I give to Penelope and not him!
Ever since Penelope, I never knew how much I would fall in love. She is not only my best friend, but I truly and genuinely love her; like trust me when I say this is REAL LOVE! It is honestly even too hard to try and explain to you how excited I get to see her whenever I come home, or how excited I am to see her run to the door when she hears my footsteps! Not to mention my extremely high pitched voiced I use to call out her name whenever I see her for the first time in hours!
The best part is that I know the feeling is mutual from her end! Yeah she likes to have her own space, but whenever I am just sitting around doing school world, she literally would lay near me, watching and waiting for me to finish so she can have my full attention. Whenever she is scared, she just LOVES to grabbed on a hold of me and struggle to stay with me if I even try to let her go. And she just loves to climb on me. Which is definitely different from the growling/grunting she does to my sister.

I can honestly just go on and on about the things I never expected when I got Penelope. I love her too much, and I do not care. I don't even like to think about what I would ever do without her... that is just a sad and scary thought.
Do you have any pets whom you love with all your heart! Let me know! Better yet, if you wrote a post about them, I would love to read them, just leave your links below!

A Little (Long) Story About Love

A Little (Long) Story About Love
Love is something that is an extremely complicated topic; "When you feel it, that's when you know".
Recently my friend, S, has spoken to me about a problem she was having. She experienced love twice in her life. She grew up with the first one (lets name him M)… grew up with him, dated for a little, but stayed as friend after their breakup. Feelings were obviously still there, for her, but from him… that was something every one wondered about.
After years of trying to express her feelings to M, out of the blue one day S did… she was so devastated when M told her that he did not feel the same for her. From that day one, S swore to herself that she will be done with M and on that very same night, another guy decided to step him. We shall name him G.
From what G explains, he always had an eye for her since the day the met a few months earlier. When he saw her running back to her car in tears, he had this idea that she and M had broken up. And from that day on, G was constantly there in her life.
It's actually an amazing story, but three years later, here they are still together working their way onto four years. She's happy, he's happy.
During my friend and G's relationship, she made a sacrifice to stop talking to her long time childhood friend M. M seemed to handle this whole situation okay, and so she was okay that she didn't feel missed.
G didn't like M altogether. One obvious reason was because of the fact that M was her ex, but another reason was that G thought M and my friend looked like a perfect matched couple.
But recently, M mother passed away, and my friend was back in his life. I don't know where her feelings lie, but she knew she had to be there for a long time friend. From then on… they've been texting here and there with hellos and how are yous… nothing more.
Last night speaking to my friend, she told me that M randomly texted her asking, "I have a question for you.." and then the conversation continued to asking her why she stopped talking to him. This was the first time in a long time she felt good about herself and felt that she was able to stand up something she always feared. She told him that she needed the space to get over someone who will never have the same feelings that she expressed.
This is the part of the story that personally breaks my heart…
M told her that he would have gotten back together with her as he liked her for a while. Her friendship with G that was growing from when they met made M want to back off… due to the jealousy and situations those two had, M didn't want S to be put in the middle and thought that S deserved someone who was there for her since day one. He admitted to her that he disappeared and appeared back in her life whenever he pleased, and he was sorry.
As easy as it was for S to tell M that it was good that they both moved on, she is now questioning whether if this was true for her. She is now questioning where her feeling lie… for M or for G.
Love is a complicated subject… love can lie between two people, and whether or not you have experienced it first hand… only the heart knows.
Hope you enjoyed this weird wandering love story,

The NEW Addition
Before you get ahead of yourself by the misleading title of this post, no I am NOT pregnant… and I definitely don't plan to either until I know I am ready and have the resources (including finance) to get care of him/her… Anyways, this is besides the point!
For my birthday, Jay decided to surprise me with a little gift… something I had to pick out myself and I was actually curious of what this gift could be. To me, the little things count, and by him taking me out to dinner on my birthday was more than enough, so this was making me excited.
Anyways, we got to the mall and passed by this pet shop, and we were just looking at the different pets that were around waiting to be taken home. We've planned on adopting a puppy many times, but never really got around to it as we both know we wouldn't be at home as much due to school and work. But recently he's been talking about a bunny, and I am absolutely in love with them! Ever since my first pet, a rabbit I received when I was younger, I knew I would want more in the future.
Well in the shop, we stopped at the area where the bunnies were playing and he asked me which one I would want if we were to get one. And I chose this one little guy that looked like he ran shit in their little community. LOL and then next thing I knew, Jay was picking out a cage and food for the little guy. And then bam, the saleslady took him out and handed him to me to hold! I fell in love with him the instant he was in my arms!
So without further ado, I want to introduce to you our little new addition to our family, MJ! If you're asking, why MJ? We named him MJ because he has the sickest jumps I ever seen a rabbit do - He twists himself and just hops at any moment! And in the cage we got him, there this ramp that has an entrance for him to hide in, and the way he exits his little hideaway, is like an extravagant entrance where he wants everyone to know he is out!
I hope you enjoy the pictures of our little guy!
P.S these are iPhone quality pictures because we didn't want to scare him with a big camera and the flash!

The Thankful Project: A Physical Trait
Day 24: A
Prompt About "A Physical Trait You Have"
Today I am linking up with Kenzie from Chasing
Happy for this today's prompt for The Thankful Project. Today's prompt is about
a physical trait I have… I think today's prompt is a really great way to
finally see what attributes you have that makes you beautiful as well.
I'm the type of person who would compliment anyone I think
is pretty or has nice cloths. But when it comes to be receiving
compliments, I usually just throw them to the side saying naw, you're just
trying to be nice.
So for today's prompt, I really thought about
the few traits that people usually compliment me on.. and there are a few
things I can talk about - my cubby cheeks, my eyes or (according to my bf)
my factor of having both beauty and brains.
But I decided to talk about the number one thing
people usually love to compliment me on - my long hair. Growing
up, I never really had the intention of growing my hair long… I always wanted
to be like my mom who loved having short hair, and so I just wanted to
have short hair just like she did. But growing up, I received a lot
of suggestions from my aunts to try having long hair like my mom did when she
was younger. And so I did, and I am in love with my own hair just as
everyone else is.
My hair is extremely healthy (virgin hair, no
highlights or anything), it looks so silky, it is so soft to touch, and overall
I can pretty much do anything to do and still make it look beautiful. I am so
thankful for my hair today because I know there are people out there who
are unable to grow hair for certain health issues, and that is why I grow my
hair long, cut 6 inches off to donate it to cancer, and redo the entire
process. I am thankful I am able to help whenever I can. Best part is,
when I cut my hair, it is still long, so I have nothing to be sad
about when donating my hair!
Here is a
look throughout the year with my process of regrowing my hair!

Finally Reunited
On November 19, I turned 19 years old. As happy as my day was, an unfortunate event happened… Our long time family friend passed away. It was hard to hear this news as my uncle (that's what I call him) has been apart of my sister and I's life ever since the age of 6. I'm 19 now, that 13 years our families have been inseparable.
The viewing was last night, which was why I was unable to blog something then, and the service is later today. As sad as it was, the family was unable to contact old friends that grew up with us as well. So my sister and I decided to pull out our contacts and try to contact our karate family.
Yes, I took karate don't be surprised. My sister and I started at the age of 6 and we were able to attain our junior black belt. So that was a huge accomplishment for us, and the friends we made was a bonus.
And last night, for the first time in years, we were all together in one room - and wow it was an amazing feeling. You know how strong our friendship is when we all talked as if we just saw each other yesterday. It wasn't awkward at all, it was just emotional because it felt like old times. Being in that room with those group of people reminded me of my life at karate, and how much I miss doing it with them.
As unfortunate as the circumstances was, I think it sad that it takes a death in our family in order to get all of us to be together. As happy as we all were, we decided to do a skating party with all of us just like old times.
Towards the end of the viewing, some of us started getting emotional because who knows when the next time is when we will all be together again… lol I'm thinking either Manan's or Joa's wedding (hopefully)! So my sensei wanted all of us to take a photo together to remember this moment, because like I said, it's been years since we have all been in the same room.
Just looking at this photo makes me smile… I grew up with all of them ever since I was six years old. We are missing other people, but hopefully we can all meet up for the skating party and really have the whole team there. I love them all as they all made a huge impact on my life. Thank you so much for guys!

The BIG One Nine
Guess what…. IT'S MY BIRTHDAY and today I turn 19 years old.
I am just so thankful that I have been able to walk and live on earth and meet so many great people in my life! It has been a great 19 years so far, and I am so excited to see what is in store for my future and what I am going to do with the available opportunities.
It is just crazy to me to think my life is shaping on its own where soon I'm going to be 20, and eventually be finished with university, have my career in set, and possibly get engaged or even married… So many things can happen in the next decade of my life.. and it is just crazy to think I've been alive for almost 2 decades…
To show you how exciting my birthday is, I decided to share pictures of my day so you can see how well I spent my 19th birthday!
Enjoy my lovely iPhone quality pictures!

To Happiness, Here I Come

Disclaimer: I am not a student with a psychology degree. I am a student studying psychology, and sharing the studies and findings that I come across in my textbook.
This one section I was making notes for posed the question, What is happiness? And in the search of exploring what the answer to this question is, I read about cultivating happiness. This is something I found to be extremely interesting as I can apply these concepts on myself, in hopes of becoming a more positive and happier person.
There were two different strategies for cultivating one's happiness, and I decided to share one of those strategies with you all. One of the strategies mentioned was that by living your life with positive emotions, it is the clearest pathways to life satisfaction (Gilovich et al., 228). With that being said, a study was conducted where individuals were told to count 5 blessings once a week. These individuals reported higher levels of happiness when compared to individuals who didn't count their blessing (Gilovich et al., 228).
Reading this particular study wanted me to test this out on myself. There is no ultimate hypothesis I am trying to prove, I personally just want to count my blessings and see if this eventually makes a difference in my life.
So bloggers, I present to you my 5 Blessings for this Week:
1. I am thankful for waking up every day this week, to share my life with everyone around me.
2. I am thankful for the home that I live in. I may take this for granted all the time, but without my home, I wouldn't have somewhere warm to sleep in at night.
3. I am thankful for my health. This week nothing bad occurred in regards to my health, which is an indication that I am getting stronger and healthier.
4. I am thankful for the education I am receiving. Although I may get tired and lazy to go to school, but I think I am beginning to realize all the amazing things I can learn and how to apply them to myself, or even to other concepts and subjects.
5. I am thankful for the food. This week, and the past week, I kept complaining about how hungry I was. Looking back, I ate more than enough food and so there was really nothing to complain about. I ate, I am healthy and receiving the nutrients I need. I am thankful for that.
I challenge you all to write a WEEKLY list of just FIVE blessings you have. It is not a tough challenge, but I already feel the positivity I am sharing with you all just by writing 5 simple blessings.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend xo,
