I'm Feeling 22!

21 November 2016

I'm Feeling 22!

I know, I know. You've probably seen the use of this Taylor Swift song way too many times... but, hey it's finally my turn to jump on this bandwagon because.... I turned 22!

Yes, yes I did. As of Saturday, I turned 22 years old! And, even though I've only been 22 for like a minute, it's still really hard for me to get used to the fact that I'm no longer 18. Like common, is it just me or is 18 that age you just want to blurt out whenever someone asks how old you are????

I'm really hoping it's not just me because as of right now, I feel old yet so young at the same time. I'm sure that's normal... but, I'm not really liking this feeling.

So far in my 22 years in life, I must say it's going pretty well. And, I have to admit, 21 was a great year for me. I graduated from university and earned my HBSc, and I'm currently preparing to start the next chapter of my life. Yes... it is more school. But, this time, I'm going into nursing (literally something I've been trying to achieve for way too long). But, hey, I shouldn't complain. Better late than never no? And, a bunch of other important things happened to me this year (that I sadly cannot remember), but clearly the two I mentioned were the most important.

The best has yet to come. And, I'm hoping for this year to be a better adventure! I have a lot of goals for myself... you'll see in the next few days when I post it ;)

But, before I go, can I just quickly tell you guys how I spent my birthday weekend

My birthday celebration actually started on Friday because my friend, Monica, and I actually both share the same birthday. And, we thought it would so super cute to just spend the 18th together, since we were both already scheduled to work that day. It was too cute. She bought us "Birthday Girl" pink ribbons that we wore on our shirts, and we both went out for lunch! It was great because we both tired out this restaurant Panda express for the first time, and our experience with them was okay. Meh. It doesn't seem much, but I thought It was just perfect for us two!

The Saturday was my actual birthday, and I was fortunate enough to spend it with both my parents for the morning. My parents gave me money (YAAAAAS) which I was super happy about putting towards some expensive a*s textbooks I need to buy for school. Not the point... I also received a delivery from Jay, who sent me the cutest (and my first) edible arrangements. It not only smelled amazing, it tasted too good.

But, that evening was even better. I spent it with Jay, and he took me to Moxie's. I ordered myself oven roasted chicken with quinoa. Guys, I kid you not, I might just be obsessed with quinoa after this AMAZING plate. Afterwards, we spent the rest of the night with some friends drinking and doing nonsense. It was lowkey, but exactly what I wanted.

Sunday, was just as great! Sister came home,  the family and I went to Mandarin, a Chinese buffet that was bomb because I got to eat for free! YAY! Thank you mom for constantly signing up and doing surveys for everything. We did a bit of shopping, and ended the day by coming home and relaxing.

It couldn't have been any better.

Also, the best part was that I got a lot of cheesecake!!! YUM.

Let me say this again.....

I got a lot of cheesecake.

Even though the weekend is over and today is Monday, urg, the celebrations aren't quite over. My mom, dad and I are actually going out tonight. We will be headed to Niagara Falls to watch Christmas on Ice in one of the Casinos. It should be fun. I've never went to watch anything on ice before. And, it will be my first time at a Casino (or so my parents think) haha.

How was your weekend?!?!

That Time I Celebrated My 21st!

That Time I Celebrated My 21st!

This past weekend, Jay and I celebrated our 21st birthday with our friends, and it was great! Let me set this straight, I know my birthday was literally just a month ago, but because of school and exams for not only me, but for my friends, I made the decision to host a party after everyone's exams. At the same time, it was just a few days afters Jay's, and we just decided to throw one BIG one for the both of us.

It was fun, and I had an amazing time! Although, hosting a party is completely different from just attending a party. The entire day was a stressful one - from getting house set up, to getting all the foods and drinks ready, to actually having time to do my hair an makeup, and to making sure no BS was happening before, during and after the night.

But, I had an amazing time, and I really hope that others did just as well! I thought it would be fun for mo to share almost all of my snapchat story that I took during the night.. I mean, I would share my snapschat story, but I do try to keep my blog PG. Also, of the 3 pictures I actually remembered to take with the actual camera app, all I have is the videos and pictures (mostly videos) from my snapchat ahah.

I mean, at this point, I could talk about all the foods and drinks, and games we played and enjoyed ourselves to, but I really can't because I was pretty much having too much fun to remember anything (hint hint as to what I was really doing). Overall, I had an amazing time, and I probably won't be throwing another party in the near future, but I definitely know what I need to improve on for next time!

Twenty Thoughts on Turning Twenty

Guess what!

Today is my birthday, and I turn 20 years old. Oh-em-geee. I didn't think this would be a big deal, because I didn't feel much of a difference in my past birthdays. But, I don't know what it is, this one feels absolutely different! As I was staying up to work on my assignment (ahead of time I might add), I heard my mother's alarm go off 10 minutes to 12:00am. Then, all of a sudden, I started to get nervous. I'm not sure of what, but I think I was actually nervous about turning 20!

The only other time I could really remember being excited  was for my 13th birthday. I was sooo excited about being a teenager.  Then, as the year gone by, I got less and less excited. Even for my 18th and 19th birthday, yes, of course I was happy, but I wasn't as excited as I was about turning 13. But, here I am. 20 years old, and I don't know if it is just me or not, but I honestly feel different! And this, was something I didn't expect from myself!

So, in honour of my 20th birthday, I decided to share 20 thoughts I have about being in my 20s!
1
1. I want to... study abroad. Or just go to a different country for a year and live through the eyes of another culture.

2.  I'm excited for... my birthday weekend! (well, not this weekend), but in December when I celebrate my bday/jay's bday/ our anniversary!

3. I'm scared... that I won't live up to my own standards!

4. I'm loving... GLEE!

5.  I'm hoping that... I'll graduate from university, and move on to greater things!

6. I'm currently... petting Penelope

7. I want to... take excreting and dieting more seriously!

8.  I'm excited to... get out of my comfort zone and just try new things!

9. I'm grateful for... the love and support I have

10. I'm inspired by... love

11. I want... a puppy or a bunny! Just a little buddy for Penelope!

12. I'm scared and excited... to be brave enough to move out of my parents... eventually!

13. I'm excited to... live day by day in my 20s!

14. I don't want to... get wrinkles!

15. I want to... get married within the next 10 years :)

16. The best thing about being a teenager was... being a teenager and just having my parents to fall back on!

17. I'm hoping... I'll find my dream career that I'll love

18. I want to... learn a new language! Thinking about trying sign language.

19. I'm scared of... getting older

20. I'm thankful for... my life, and being able to make it this far.

Cheers! I'm definitely going to live up my 20s!

The BIG One Nine

The BIG One Nine

Guess what…. IT'S MY BIRTHDAY and today I turn 19 years old.

I am just so thankful that I have been able to walk and live on earth and meet so many great people in my life! It has been a great 19 years so far, and I am so excited to see what is in store for my future and what I am going to do with the available opportunities.

It is just crazy to me to think my life is shaping on its own where soon I'm going to be 20, and eventually be finished with university, have my career in set, and possibly get engaged or even married… So many things can happen in the next decade of my life.. and it is just crazy to think I've been alive for almost 2 decades…

To show you how exciting my birthday is, I decided to share pictures of my day so you can see how well I spent my 19th birthday!
Enjoy my lovely iPhone quality pictures!
Had my sister drive herself to school.  Afterwards, took the car and drove myself to school.
What a great way to start off my birthday with some morning selfish on my way to school!
After my 10 am class, I'm in the library reading the book for my socio anthropology class later at 2 pm ("Righteous Dopefiend" by Philippe Bourgois and Jeff Schonberg)
In my socio anthro class, decided to buy a large sweet apple cider before class! It felt so great to have something warm for the cold weather!
Jay took me out to Kelsey's Restaurant!
