A Time Where I Felt Unstoppable

Sorry for blogging so late today... I've been writing this essay ALL day that was due at 10pm.  I'm done that now, phew.  But NTS: I really got to stop putting things all the last minute...

Day 10: A day where you felt unstoppable; hosted by a happy girl.

This is a load question and I honestly don't know where to begin.  I guess we can turn back time to one year ago when I was promoted to my current rank of Warrant Officer 1st Class.  It is the highest rank a cadet can attain, and I can honestly say that I deserved this rank.

I didn't have my parents join in any part of the squadron, and I didn't use any bribery towards any officers.  I showed dedication and commitment through my participation in the drill team, biathlon team, range team, orienteering team, sports team.  I've been a part of the Flag Party, being Flag Party Commander for almost 3 years, and I have attended Introduction to Leadership Course, Introduction to Survival Course and Survival Instructors Course.

I've done for not only myself, but for the benefit of the squadron by participating in multiple Legion events, allowing me graciously to receive the Cadet Legion Medal of Excellence.

My ultimate goal back when I first joined was to become Warrant Officer 1st Class and follow in the footsteps of my inspirations.  I hope I did an amazing job, and the day they announced my name to come up and receive my promotion, I felt like I was unstoppable because I did this on my own; and I deserved this.

Pictures are worth a thousands words, so please enjoy a few pictures that were taken the day I became:
 WO1.

Time

The entire process of catching up is extremely hard, especially when I literally missed a weeks worth of blogs... I think I would have to be a quick creative person to write 8 different blogs (including today's) in order to catch up... So instead I think it is fair to just continue from Day 8, and do as many days as I can for this blogember challenge!

Day 8: Write a five minute prompt on Time; hosted by a happy girl.

Let the timer begin!

Time is said to be eternal... we don't know where it began, and we will not know when it will end.  Just yesterday we were babies in our parents eyes, and in a blink of an eye, here we are today.  We are either in school or working. What will you be doing tomorrow? Probably our same weekly routine.

I think we are so focused on putting a meaning on what time is by creating labels such as past, present and future.  Although time is said to be eternal, I think we are wasting it by focusing on too much detail about everything in our lives.

Time doesn't wait for us.  Before you realize it, you will not have anytime left to do what's important in life.  So why are we wasting time just sitting around doing nothing? Shouldn't we be doing something with the time that we have left?

Not everyone is blessed with time... I can tell you that.  Not everyone has the opportunity to lives as long as others do.  Why waste YOUR precious time on things that don't matter anyways? Focus on you and your life... your time will be worth it once you realize you're spending it with the right kind of people.

If time is a virtue, why is it being wasted?

Playing catch up continues! Hopefully I won't be one of those annoying bloggers who just blogs every 10 minutes... I'm just trying to catch up I swear!

Day 2: Favourite inspiring quote; hosted by a happy girl.

"Butterflies can't see their wings.  They can't see how truly beautiful they are, but everyone else can.  People are like that as well." - anonymous
I've seen this quote circulating around tumblr for a long time now... and every time I read it, I get the same chills that I had the first time I read this quote.  Because of societal norms, we don't appreciate or see the beauty that we have.  We are always so fully concentrated on physically looking a certain way that we forget what we were born with.

This quote may not be inspirational to you, but it is to me.  It is an eye opener of how beauty is among everyone of us... but we are too insecure to notice.  We are able to notice all our flaws, but not the traits and features that make us beautiful.

Being in a society that cares only about looks is unfortunate.  We care about what people think and say about us, and we allow that to control our lives - some for better; mostly for the worst.  I think it is always important to remember that we are all beautiful.

You are beautiful for being you, don't let anyone ever tell you otherwise.

Stay strong and stay beautiful for you - Beauty starts from within.

Best Lesson Life Has Shown Me

Best Lesson Life Has Shown Me

I know I am cheating by playing catch up with this November blogging challenge hosted by a happy girl. But give me a break. I've recently came across this challenge just this morning, and in all honestly, I want to join along.  It would be great for a rookie blogger to have some blogs to post about.  So let's play the catch up game starting with....

Day 1: One of the best lessons life has shown you.

In all my years of living (which has only been 18 years), I've spent a great amount of time in school and other extra curricular activities. I've met a lot of great people, and a lot of not so great people in my journey to find who I am.  I've also came across people who only talked to me when they needed something.

A lesson I've learned is that if a person wants to be a part of your life, they will make an effort to do so.

For me, there was this one person who I kept running after to be a part of my life.  But I unfortunately wasted 8 years trying to run after him when in reality he just wanted to use me.  And it's a shame how someone you used to consider your close friend could do many hurtful things, and I still considered him a friend.  No apologies, no remorse.. I was an idiot and just kept running after him.

When I met Jay that's when things began to become clearer for me.  He made it apparent to me that there is not point of reserving a spot/space for ANYONE in my life, especially if they do not make an effort to stay.  He was right.

What benefit will I have if all I do is give, give, give... and get nothing in return?

This story does have a happy ending I promise... With Jay, he's just the perfect example of what it means to be there for you in times of need; and that is why I have a huge space reserved for him in my heart.  He makes an OBVIOUS effort to show that he does want to be apart of my life.  He makes it OBVIOUS that he is not using me for whatever... he wants to be in my life for the good.

That is the kind of people we need in all of our lives.  No need to stress over nothing, when you have everything in front of you waiting.
