If We Were on a Coffee Date | vol. 5

30 September 2015

If We Were on a Coffee Date | vol. 5

Can't believe the month is already over - like, over, over. Tomorrow we start the month of October, and that means a WHOLE lot of tests and essays and exams to prepare and schedule for. But, let's not dwell of the future studies... I wanna talk about this month!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about Neisha's birthday! Just this past weekend, my  main cousin turned 21! And, we partied hard for her. Hmm.. I would make a blog post about it, but I really don't remember taking any photos at all! It was all videos for snapchat.. and half of it was just nonsense I don't remember taking... This is exactly why I wouldn't make a blog post about it aha!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about how I participated in the blog-tember challenge. I can truthfully say that blog-tember was a success! (well, almost).  I mean, I participated in this challenge more than I thought I was capable of. Reaching towards the end of the month, however, I did find myself struggling to keep up with school work, so I went missing for like 6 days... But, besides that, I am genuinely surprised I completed the challenge!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you about some of my favourite prompts from the month! I'll just casually list out 5 of my favourite prompts from the month! For your convenience, I've also linked up my post that went with the prompt :)

1. Create a collage or mood board that describes your blog. (my post!)
2. Write a letter to 16-year-old you. (my letter)
3.  Record a VLOG! It can be about anything you'd like (here's mine!)
4. A favourite quote/expression and how it has impacted you. (my favourite quote..
5. Get creative! Sketch, paint, dance, play music, whatever then give us a glimpse. (here's my work!)

If we were on a coffee date, I'd tell you how I found bunch of daily reads! Which, I am really happy about. Most of my daily reads (don't want to name anyone specific) don't blog on the daily anymore. So, I feel very empty on my Saturday mornings having not much to read. But, now...  because of this challenge, I've defiantly found something to read again :) Yay!

If we were on a coffee date, I'd probably order another coffee.. or two. I really need it. And, I'm just swarmed with school stuff. As much as I don't want to think about it... I do have to prepare for the upcoming weeks of tests and other "fun" stuff.

Getting Creative with Typography

Getting Creative with Typography

I'm not the most creative person in the world. Scratch that... I mean, I have all these creative and fun ideas in my mind, I am just not able to transcribe it with pen and paper. I guess you can say I have no artistic skills.. especially, when it comes to drawing. My drawing are still elementary... that's insulting to children actually... I know they can draw better than me :/

Anyways, so instead of drawing to release my creativeness of my mind, I decided to stick to words to convey any type of expression or feeling in a certain moment. And, with a little bit of pinterest, I discovered the fun there is to behind typography. And, every since, I've done my own version of typography - basically just sticking to quotes or verses or sayings.

Because my creative juice flow isn't what it was when I was younger, most of my creations are replica's, or at least I tried my best to replicate some of my favourites I've come across. But, they aren't exact copies, there are few variations.

So, today, I decided to share with you a few of my favourite creations! P.S. I'm obviously no professional... so don't mind if a word isn't straight or if my writing purely sucks. I like them because it was fun in the moment!
Oh, I usually share some of my creations on Pinterest... but, I haven't updated that board in a while. But, for more, you can definitely check that out below!

Living With Positivity

Living With Positivity

"Positive anything is better than negative nothing."
- Elbert Hubbard
Living with positivity is how I strive to live my life. Thinking with positivity is how I choose to see the world. I am a firmly believer that positive thinking leads to positive outcomes.

I feel like we, as individuals, determine the course of our lives.. I mean, in the sense in which we ultimately decide how we live our lives through our ways of thinking. From experience, I've learned that thinking negatively actually leads to negative outcomes. And, this makes sense. When you think so low about certain people or situations/events, you expect (or at least wait for) bad things to happen. So, you are basically looking for the bad. And, this attracts the negativity.

This is the same with thinking positively. When we choose to see things in a positive manner, we soon have positive thoughts, and these positive thoughts lead to our positive outcomes. When I choose to see various situations in a positive light, I soon begin to appreciate and notice the good out of every situation.

Personally speaking, I want to live a happy life, and I found positivity helps A LOT. So, like Hubbard said... I would rather have positive anything than negative nothing.

Five of my Guilty Pleasures

20 September 2015

Five of my Guilty Pleasures

image via
Happy Sunday everyone! Below, I've listed FIVE of my guilty pleasures. I'm not even sure if some of them count as a guilty pleasure, but I mean, I know it may not be part of the norm. Nonetheless, here are my guilty pleasures!

1. Chocolate!
I mean... if chocolate was healthy, I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, AND dinner. Okay, maybe not... but you get what I mean. I love chocolate, especially milk chocolate.. YUM.

2. Breakfast for Dinner
Hahaha, I really don't see why I can't eat cereal later in the day, or even make eggs and bacon for my dinner. I'm not sure who designated eggs, bacon, sausages, english muffins, to be served for breakfast.. But, I think they taste better later in the day! :)

3. Reality TV: specifically, Dance Moms and The Real Housewives!
I'm not sure why I consider this a guilty pleasure of mine, but I actually enjoy watching these type shows! How can you not like to watch the drama between friends or family? I know that may be a tad bad to say out loud, but the drama (fake drama.. doesn't matter), still makes good TV.

4. Buying Makeup or Nail Polish
I mean... I know I probably won't use it.. yet, I still buy it because I tell myself that it is an "investment" for my face. Like, that doesn't even make sense, but someone my conscious mind is convincing my subconscious otherwise. The other day, I literally found 3 MAC lipsticks I supposedly bought, and clearly don't remember. Shopping and not remembering.. you know something is wrong.

5. Spice Girls and Britney Spears!
This shouldn't have to be guilty pleasure. When I hear an old song from either the Spice Girls or Britney Spears, I cannot just not sing along to it! Oh, especially when I'm driving, and Wannabe plays on the radio... I'll be the best dancer in a car you've probably EVER seen. Seriously, it's my jam.

What about you? Share any of these guilty pleasures with me!?

My Best Day = Penelope

19 September 2015

My Best Day = Penelope

The best day ever was when I brought Penelope home with me!

I remember that day clearly. Jay and I were shopping and found ourselves in front of the pet store. We went in, and we looked at all the animals. Then, in an instant, I saw her. I saw how small, cute and adorable she was! She was the baby from the bunch, and she had the bluest eyes I've ever seen on a rabbit. Then, I told Jay, I wanted her. I wanted her as a friend for MJ (Jay's rabbit) and I wanted her for me!
MJ And Penelope
However, we quickly realized that MJ (being a few months older than Pae) was a little more mature than Penelope was ready to be. So, we always found ourselves trying to remove MJ from attempting to get on top of Penelope; and we always had to help Penelope out when she tried to like run for her life away from him.

So, Penelope came home with me! I didn't tell my parents ahead of time, so I was a bit worried about their reaction. But, they thought she was so cute and welcomed home with open arms!

And, ever since then, we've been in separable. She's an amazing bunny, and I don't care if people say a rabbit isn't a "pet". Well, she's mine, and trust me she's more than a pet to me. Over the past year, she has grown to be a friend to play with, to annoy, and the talk to. And, I don't regret the day of getting her. Best spontaneous decision ever!

So, there you have it. Penelope, has definitely been one of the best days of my life! If I had more time, I'd probably talk about ALL of the other days, but I mean, Penelope was the cutest of them all (sorry, Jay!)

A Little Bit of Everything TAG

A Little Bit of Everything TAG

Hi, friends and newcomers! Today, surprisingly, I made another vlog! I didn't know if I would have the time, or just the confidence to make one, but ever since I made my first vlog the other day showing you what was inside my bag, I thought it was actually fun. SO, today, I decided to take theis vlog thing more seriously by using a better quality camera, and, this time, I uploaded it on YouTube! I would have uploaded it up on vimeo but, the file was too big.

For today's vlog, I decided to participate in a tag - the A Little Bit of Everything TAG! Hope you enjoy this video; and sorry if I speak to fast, or just don't make sense in general! Editing is not my thing, so I tried my best to get through the entire thing in one shot!

BTW, if you wanted to do this tag, here are the questions:

1. Do you keep up with the Kardashians?
2. If you could have an old muscle car which one would you choose?
3. Do you curse like a sailor when the camera isn’t rolling?
4. If your significant other gave you a ‘Hall Pass’ who would you use it on? Be honest.
5. What is one thing you do that you hate to admit?
6. Do you really brush your teeth in the morning and at night? Be honest.
7. What is your go-to drink at Starbucks?
8. Is your current hair color your real hair color?
9. If you could swap bodies with someone, who would it be and why?
10. Have you read Fifty Shades of Grey? If so, what did you think?
11. Do you crack your knuckles?
12. Have you accidentally text messaged someone something you were suppose to be sending to your special someone?
13. Have you ever created a fake profile to creep on someone?
14. Which is your weakness- cookies or pastries?
15. What do you love about yourself?
16. Do you have to match your nail polish to your toe nail polish?
17. Tell us a few things about you that people would be surprised to know about you.
18. Heels or flats?
19. If you could do anything for one day and money wasn’t an option, how would you spend your day? Dream big.
20. What was the last YouTube video you watched?
21. Do you have road rage?
22. What is your favorite Rock ‘n’ Roll song?
23. Who was your first kiss? Do you still talk to them?
24. If you could have one YouTuber’s closet whose would it be?
25. If you could have one YouTuber’s makeup collection, whose would it be?
26. Do you have a nickname?
27. What do you think is the best thing about your YouTube channel?
28. How many cars have you had? What were they?
29. What’s your favorite pizza?
30. If you could only have 1 lipstick for the rest of your life which lipstick would you choose?
Did you have any similar answers to me? Let me know!

My Latest Obsessions!

I think having obsessions are fun, but also be timing consuming. But, I mean...who pays attention to the whole wasting an entire day?? Okay, maybe I do. But, like I said obsessions are usually fun! Without that interest or fun element, you wouldn't really be obsessed with them. I think I'm rambling and rambling just to make an intro. Let's just get straight into it! Below I've listed 5 things I'm obsessed with!

1. Grey's Anatomy!
I can't help but use every minute of my free time to watch this show. It is SO addicting to watch! Have you ever watched Suits and been obsessed with the whole lawyering things? Well, it is exactly like that but with the doctor and surgery side of the medical world! Crazy stuff and VERY interesting story line and characters. I LOVE IT!

2. Pinterest
I've had pinterest for a while now. And, because I had tumblr, I found myself on tumblr more than pinterest. But, lately, I found the joy in Pinterest that others feel. So, if you follow me on Pinterest, you may have noticed that I've been pinning MORE than usual! And, that ties in with my obsession. I'm making more boards and separating everything into the categories I want. It's both fun and addicting!

3. Tattoos
Ever since I got my first small outline tattoo of a heart on my wrist, I've been OBSESSED with tattoos in general! And, I'm obsessed with the idea of my next tattoo. I keep going through pinterest getting inspiration and thinking about a certain spot I would like it. IT is such a rush. And, the moment I save up enough money (tomorrow is payday), I'll be getting my second tattoo! YAY.

4. Journalling
Ever since I started journalling, I haven't been able to put it down I love the idea of writing all my feelings and my thoughts. I also love the feeling that come afterwards... it is like a moment of relief and freedom from my thoughts. It helps me have a blank mind when starting a new task. I love doing it, and I literally write everything

5. Penelope
My bunny. She's cute, and fluffy, and soft. She's the cutest. She's my favourite pet, and my favourite thing to come home to. Did I mention she's the cutest bunny to ever exist??

There you have it! What are some of your obsessions?!

The "Real" Me vs. Online Me

16 September 2015

The "Real" Me vs. Online Me

I would like to think that I am the same person when it comes to the internet world and the real world. In fact, I was prepared to write all about about that. But, as I pulled up onto my blog, and began to write, different thoughts came into my head.

Online, you'll probably see me as an adventurous person. On instagram (my main social media outlet), you'll probably think that I like hang out with my friends and family, and constantly go out to share a meal with them here and everywhere.  The online world makes it so much easier to present myself as the person I want others to see me as.

For example, on the blog, I realize that although I do write about my experiences and adventures here on my blog, I find myself editing a few details. I won't ever write about the days or events where I act like a complete a**. I just won't. Why? Because I don't want the internet world to see me in that light. I don't want to see myself in that way either.  So, I always focus on sharing the good and the fun! And, thats exactly what I do on other social media outlets.

I just like to think about the positive, so I share about the positive.

In real life, I have so many different kinds of me. Does that make sense? I mean, with my friends, I am the friendly, sociably, reliable, trustworthy and honest person. I find myself saying the things others would be too afraid to say, no matter how harsh or nice it may be. So, to my friends and family, I am that person who will stick by your side if you ever need a friend at 3am in the morning just to talk.

I do, however, try as much as possible to be as honest as I can here on the blog. So, don't think I am a fraud. There are just certain stories in my life I choose not to share. Personal events that I am not ready to talk about. And, I think that it is normal, to have parts of me not shared with others, especially in the real world.

So, it is tricky... to say who the "real" me is and compare it to the online me. That's why I put the word real in quotation marks in my blog post title. I still don't know who the real me is. And as everyday is an adventure, I think it is always fun to reflect on the days to see the person I am becoming.

SIDEBAR: It's interesting, I'm enrolled in the course called, Psychology of the Self, and yesterday's lecture was exactly about this... having multiple selves according to different context. You could be one person with someone, and then a completely different person with another!

What's In My Bag? + My First Vlog!

Happy Tuesday friends!

I decided to face my fears and just make a vlog for today's prompt! I'll warn you right now.... I am not familiar with any type of video equipment and the whole editing stuff! I was going to use my Canon camera, but with my luck + spontaneity, the battery was low... so, my the Photo Booth on my laptop is my next best option! Oh, and apologies for the ugly lighting... youtubers must really have so much time to get the proper lighting and area to make their videos!

Also, since today's prompt is to share with you what's in my bag, I decided to show you as opposed to tell you! Plus, it is more fun that way - and just gives me a bit of confident for Friday's blogtember prompt of creating a vlog!

Some details in case you were wondering about specific products:
Have any of these items in your bag??

5 Books

I love reading. If there was a course that only involved reading, and no essays - just the mere fun of just reading, I'd probably major in that! Books bring such joy to me. More specifically, the reading is the best parts.

I love how reading can take you to a whole different world, a place to escape from reality and just live through the lives of others. There were many books I've read that have had an impact in my life - whether it being an eye opener to reality or just a way into my soul. Books have a little world within themselves that I love to explore. Something I do not mind always travelling to!

Below, I've listed 5 books that made an impact in my life.
1. Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling
2. The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown
3. One Thousand Gifts by Ann Voskamp
4. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
5. The Giver by Lois Lowry

A lot of these books I've read once before, and it was not until a second read where they've had a significant impact on my life. I would give a detailed explanation as to what they've done for me, but  I do not want to mislead what the book will do for you if you have yet to read it! But, these are great reads, I'll tell you that!

And, truthfully, I'll probably start rereading One Thousand Gifts once more... my favourite from the bunch above!

Mood Board for My Current Season

Happy Sunday!  Lately, I've been a huge fan of mood and inspiration boards! I think they are absolutely fun to make, and the meaning behind the photos togethers speaks so much volume!

I am currently in a stressful seasons being back at school. Why? Well, because this is my final year of university. And, although I should be more excited to be the first on my dad's side to graduate from university, I am currently more scared than ever. There are days where I have absolutely no idea what my future lies, where I will end up, and what plans I have after I graduate. It is all so scary - and, on those days, I like to do my best and focus on the positive.

Positivity and good vibes are ways of reminding me that there is always a plan. I may not know exactly the plan, but God has something in store for me, and I shouldn't worry too much about it. It will eventually made more clearer for me when it is time. And, for now, find joy and happiness in the littlest of things and finding the good in everyone, will bring me one step closer.

I also find that having a healthy mind, leads to a healthier lifestyle and healthier outlook on life. And, that is my goal. MY goal is to live through health and positivity. So, hopefully, you get that sort of vibe from my mood board above; and hopefully it will also inspire those who are also confused about what life lies ahead!

A Typical Friday Night

A Typical Friday Night

YAY! It's Friday, literally my favourite day of the week! Even though I don't have classes on Thursdays and Fridays (thank goodness!), it is always a feel good moment knowing that tomorrow is Saturday. So, Friday is all about relaxation for me. Especially a Friday night.

A typical Friday night for me always includes staying in. I'm not the type of person who likes to go out every Friday. In fact, I actually love the comfort of my own home, and bed, binge watching the currently obsessed show on Netflix. Currently, its Grey's Anatomy... definitely addicting to watch!

Besides relaxing and binge watching on Netflix, if my attention is there, I use this time to reply back to unresponded comments, and catch up on some of my favourite blogs (if I haven't already read any of them during the week)!

I will not do anything school related. It's Friday night.. common, give me a break, you get me?

And, there you go. It may not sound the most exciting thing to do on a Friday night, but I mean I really enjoy staying in having a lowkey night. Especially, if I have a morning Saturday shift, which seems to be the case every week during the summer.... just saying.

What would you do if you stayed in on a Friday night!?

A Bucket List

A Bucket List

I like lists! I feel like they allow you to get straight to the point without explaining every bit of your thought (like I'm doing now). Opps. Haha. Anyways, I like bucket lists. It's a way to put your achievements or experiences literally right in front of you, reminding you what you want to accomplish in life! So, here are 10 things off my bucket list!

My Bucket List!

1. Learn a third language - preferably Sign Language!
2. Travel alone in Europe
3. Get a tattoo I actually scheduled this post a while ago; and in between scheduling this post and actually posting it, I did get a tattoo ;)
4. Run a marathon (or at least become a runner!)
5. Swim with dolphins
6. Learn to ride a motorcycle
7. Go on a cruise
8. Own my own home
9. Pet a lion
10. Take a year off, and travel everywhere

There you have it! Any of these you're interested in accomplishing? or actually experienced? Let me know!
